This usually is a pretty fun article. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 10-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

Today we will look at the 2A classification and particularly the two teams (LCA and Beechwood) we expect to principally vie for the title and why. There are good teams interspaced throughout the classification but the two we have focused on here have all the intangibles, particularly tradition, roster talent, and coaching. We are proud to have eCampus.com on our list of sponsors. These guys have set the industry standard for savings, selection, convenience, and customer service and have committed themselves to helping college students more easily afford to better themselves and develop. It is time to break down the 2A classification and eCampus.com is as interested in this class as any other business entity in the commonwealth of KY. We picked LCA a year ago and people thought we were crazy. The Eagles return a ton of production and, all of a sudden, our prognosis doesn’t appear so far fetched. Beechwood welcomes back an all-time coaching legend to its sideline and also returns a strong Mr. Football candidate in Tyler Fryman. Owensboro Catholic, Belfry, and Breathitt all have stars, are very well coached, and figure to make a run. Enjoy this look at the 2A classification as we gear up toward the opener.

It is called the “Holy War.” Lexington Catholic versus Lexington Christian. It is one of the more anticipated rivalry games in the commonwealth of Kentucky. It is getting played tonight and we have taken an in-depth look at the matchup and the men who will play it. We will forecast a winner, then we will wait and see whether we were right or wrong. Enjoy this bit of in-depth analysis and this second Friday article to substitute for the fact we will not be publishing a Saturday article tomorrow morning owing to our time constraints and responsibilities to our radio show, “Friday Night, Kentucky.”

Friday Night Fletch.

Thomas Sizemore is one of the more recognizable names playing football across Kentucky, especially in the ’28 graduating class. He had a tremendous freshman season and was selected an FBU, Freshman All-American for his efforts. Look for this guy to see more offensive deployment heading into the ’25 season. This guy has the goods. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!

LCA routinely produces the finest college talent in the commonwealth in spite of playing at the 2A classification. As we have said umpteen time, where you compete (classification-wise) is pretty meaningless in Kentucky. In the KHSAA, we have good teams and not so good teams. Both types span all six (6) classes. Enjoy this look at a kid who has the name to go as far as he would like in the sport of football. He has the measurements and the skills too. Enjoy the feature.
