Celebrating the type Revolutionary Performance which has made us the fastest growing bank in the Kentucky financial service's market

’24 DB/WR/RB has among the more vast skill sets on display in the 2A classification

Xavier Biggers is a speedster. Look for him to do more split wide and down the field in Coach Melvin Cunningham’s offense that the split veer his predecessor coached to precision. Biggers is a 4.5-second, 40-yard dash guy whose regional title in the 200 meter during Track & Field season appears to bolster. He had a huge ’22 and his ’23 could be right off the charts.

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player who will go into his junior season coming off a sensational sophomore campaign. We are featuring a rising junior who would have been on our old Sophomore All-State Team if we were still publishing one. Today we feature Xavier Biggers, a ’24 DB/WR/RB from Murray, Kentucky’s Murray High who may be among the better athletes in his graduating class from all across the commonwealth.

Biggers’ performances in ’22 exceeded reasonable expectations for the Tigers from Murray, Kentucky. Biggers and his teammates are coming off a 6-6 season but have every reason to be excited about the prospects of the program heading into the ’23 campaign.

Murray High is close to two fine branches. One of the branches goes by “Patriot Square (pictured)” and is located at 507 North 12th Street and the other is called the “Glendale Branch” and may be found on 721 South 12th-Street both of which are in Murray, Kentucky 42071.

Get on by and visit both of these fine branches today. Discover what makes Independence Bank’s people, products, and services revolutionary in the financial services industry.

This kid was a thousand yard rusher in ’22, led the team in receptions and scoring, and won the 200-meter regional sprint championship

Xavier Biggers was just tremendous in ’22. Biggers was a two-way star and his production on both sides of the football was astounding.

Offensively, Biggers shone at RB though most would have considered him a WR/DB guy coming into the ’22 season. Biggers led his team in yards gained from scrimmage with 1,031 in only 87-carries with 11-rushing TD’s.

Biggers averaged nearly 12-yards a carry (11.85). Biggers scored a TD every 7.91-attempts.

The team didn’t throw the football often under the previous regime. Still, Biggers led the team in receptions (10), yards receiving (294), and TD’s receiving (6).

Biggers scored 110-points on the year. The entire team only scored 385. He was nearly 29% of the team’s entire point outlay.

Defensively, Biggers was among the leaders in stops (45) and registered an INT. Biggers was among the team leaders in PBU’s to go with his other defensive numbers.

Little surprise Biggers was selected to the Western Kentucky Conference’s All-Conference team. He should vie for All-State consideration in ’23.

Congratulations to Xavier Biggers both for his Revolutionary Play in ’22 and that which is to come in ’23 and beyond, all of which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, your friends at Independence Bank.
