We are approaching round four (4) in the KHSAA playoffs. All of these teams left standing are very good. There are exactly no bad apples left in the barrel. It will be the “little things” which differentiate between winning and losing at this point. “Mighty Mayfield” has themselves the home field and a kicker in Lincoln Suiter who has before come through for the Cardinals in a “big game,” with the game on the line. If called upon, Friday night, will he come through once more? We shall see, but the Cardinals are confident. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Murray High may have a backfield full of the hardest names to spell in all of football. You virtually need a doctorate to even attempt to spell Rowdy Sokolowski, Brendon Dahncke, or Charvelle McCallister. This week’s recipient, Brendon Dahncke, had a particularly good game in one of his team’s more important games of the year, against cross-town, 4A, District 1 heavyweight, Calloway County. It was a battle for supremacy in the city of Murray and the county of Calloway and Dahncke led his team to the winner’s circle. This kid is our top 2021 DE in the entire 1A classification. Here’s the rub, he’s being recruited to play on offense just as hard as on defense. Many D-1s rave about him as a TE prospect. This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is a top-flight, 2021 RB playing for Murray High School. His name is Charvelle McAllister. He, very quietly and without much fanfare, rushed for over 1,100-yards in 2019 in only 12-games in 2019. Both Tommy Waldrup and Hunter Utley have moved on to playing on Saturdays, so he will be critically important to his team’s fortunes in 2020.
