His matriculation to UK was ill-timed. When the great Danny Sundberg, the pride of Waggener High arrived on the Wildcat campus, reporting for football camp, the Big Blue had just hired a Bear Bryant assistant named, Charlie Bradshaw. Needless to say, it didn’t go well. Thereafter, Sundberg and several of his Wildcat mates transferred to WKU where Sundberg would earn three varsity letters (1963-65) as a fullback. When you look into the soulful eyes of the man, you see the pain from some hard living welled up inside. You see something else too. You see contentment, you see pride, and you see a guy who has been a hero to so many through the years, this author included. Take a bow, Danny Sundberg. You have earned it.

LaRue County has one fine QB who has reclassified as a ’25 prospect and is framed out exactly like one wants to see a pro-style QB. Gavin Chadwell is easily among the top players at his position in the commonwealth. This goes equally for his secondary position (DE) like it does for his primary position (TE). We gave used an arrow to point out Corey Bitterling. If you attend any South Warren games, we are wagering you will not need any gesticulation to find him. We have watched highlights on him and he jumps off the page at us. He may be a couple inches too short to play anywhere but center at the D-1 level. However, with his grades, he will be able to go wherever he wishes and there are some small-college programs who would pay handsomely for him. Enjoy the feature. HB.
