How does any program replace a Mr. Football in the offensive backfield. Well, when that program is Belfry, they do it with a young talent who has shown he won’t shy from having to fill shoes that size. It must stink having to play Belfry all the time. Man these mountains are loaded with talent. We tend to find every last one of them too. Why? Because we have Mark Cook on our team and other publications don’t. We are going to say something here with which Isaac Dixon, who we know well, would readily agree. He doesn’t gain 228-yards rushing on 15 carries and walk away from Kroger Field with the Class 3A, State Championship Game MVP hardware without Ethan “Big E” Wolford and the rest of “Haywood’s Hogs.” In a game dominated by grown men able to move the unwilling from A to B despite the latter’s protestations, Belfry reinforces the adage one has to “run the damn football” to win games in November and December in the commonwealth of Kentucky. We are going to miss Big E.
