KPGFootball’s take on the preseason Top-30 offensive linemen list

April 1, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

Every list ever published extolling the ability of any body of people have had people undervalued on the list, people overvalued on the list, and people glaringly omitted. No list is perfect. BoyleCo has done yeoman’s work here, and while we may not agree with the order, we can’t argue with any of the thirty he listed. We can and will give our opinion…and here it is. Enjoy the article. In what has become a tradition at KPGFootball, we have been publishing our end of the year, MS, Freshman, and Sophomore All-State teams. They are the only teams of their like in Kentucky High School football history and we work tirelessly on them. We are coming to the end of this series. Today, we publish the sophomore offense. Keep checking the site for the defense, on which we are still working. If you have a player who you believe should be on here and he isn’t, odds-are he wasn’t nominated by one of our subscribers. Next time, you subscribe and you nominate the player and he will be considered. Otherwise, you have no one to blame but yourself buddy! HB.

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 3A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 4A!

Is Owen LeMaster, Johnson Central, Kentucky’s best interior OL in the Class of 2022?

At KPGFootball, we can’t be higher on any young interior offensive lineman than we are on Owen LeMaster. This kid is a bull in the tradition of an Ethan Wolford or even an Andrew Clifton. Heck, he even kind of favors Clifton. We feel LeMaster is the best OG in Kentucky in the graduating class of 2022. If we were selecting a football team from that class, he would be our first choice at the guard slot from out of all the guards playing Kentucky football presently. Team Kentucky Future Stars-8th, Evan Miller, Class of 2023, from Breathitt County. He’s from the mountains…He is a mountain!

One of the big advantages the commonwealth of Kentucky has in the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic over its Tennessee counterparts is our ability to mine the coalfields up in Eastern Kentucky for rugged, tough, and often huge linemen. Evan Miller is such a specimen. This kid is 6-2, 305-pounds now and judging by what he did to the size 17 cleats he brought to the Somerset combine, he’s only just begun to grow.
