This guy last won this award in middle school. He was heading to play in a middle school All-American football game at the time. We thought he would be a high school All-American too, even then. Not even we thought it would be as quickly as it has occurred. At 6-0, 230-pounds, this cat makes plays all over the field. Austin Gough (Owensboro Senior) and he are the consummate 2nd-level players in Kentucky. Both of them are FBS-level performers and even FBS frames at where they project. So, why is Thompson being slept on, or Gough for that matter? Well, we don’t know but it won’t happen for ever.
