Cam Alsip is the type of high school player we LOVE to cover. He’s a hard worker, kills it in the weight room, all the while looking like a mild mannered, Academic team member. Yeah, Clark Kent didn’t look like much either, at least not in glasses. This kid is busting his tail to get better and it will translate onto the field. With 15-TFLs, 6.5 sacks, and five (5) FFs in ’24, how much better can this kid possibly get? I feel sorry for the kids trying to block this monster. Enjoy the feature.

We wrote this article about John Carter Myers a few years ago. It was an HB Lyon piece about the son of a famous, high school football coach. John Carter was on a visit to Centre College when this was first penned. He ended up signing with Georgetown College where he is now a 6’2,” 210-pound linebacker. He gets plenty of play and makes plenty of plays. Looks like we hit the nail on the head here.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is as involved in football, particularly recruiting, as much as I. We both agree this recruiting cycle has been unlike any we have before seen. There are some schools around Kentucky absolutely feasting on in-state football talent in filling out the programs’ football rosters. We couldn’t be happier about it. Some real ‘prime-timers’ are finding considerable value in pursuing options other than waiting around and hoping there is room left for them at the heel of some bigger school’s football program during these uncertain, unchartered times. Because of this, some D-1 skill sets are finding their way into the student bodies of some prestigious academic institutions and on the rosters of some prestigious football programs. In-state college football play will absolutely benefit. Many area schools are already nationally ranked at their levels of play. These kids stand the chance to really benefit too. Enjoy this article.
