Slow Motion Replay: (Article No. 3,000) Lynn Ray, paved the way for success today! @CovCathFootball, @EddieEviston, @CovCathColonels, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

You will notice we pictured Lynn Ray with his wife of many years as the “featured photograph” to this piece. There is a reason for that. Football wives suffer everything their husband’s endure and they do it without the least bit of fanfare nor credit. Well, we should say “outside credit.” Coaches know how valuable and faithful and supportive wife is to a lifetime of coaching and how quickly a poor choice, in the wife department, can derail a career. Today we detail the career of a guy who was a fine player for Roy Kidd at EKU and constructed the machine we now know as Covington Catholic. Lynn Ray was 5-0 in title games and won approximately 64% of his games at a place which had no practice field, no football stadium, and 34 wins in its 8 year history prior to Ray’s retention. Enjoy the feature.

This guy is rated as high as the number one RB in Kentucky’s ’26 class. Jay’Quan Crawford benches 230, squats 495, and power cleans 270 making him a real load to have to get to the ground. Crawford has four D-1 offers presently (EKU, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Toledo) with UK circling just outside the camp fire waiting to see what materializes over the course or his combine season before the senior year commences. Enjoy this feature on a superstar player and young man who has a superstar GPA to boot.

Cade Scott has everything big-time programs covet among QBs. He is tall (6’5″), well put together (200-pounds), with plenty of bounce (varsity basketball star) and a versatile skill set athletically and intellectually (4.14 GPA). Scott, like so many other Kentuckians, is a football/basketball combo guy who several D-1s are noticing, including the three (3) who have already offered. Sometimes a player’s maturation lags behind the player’s frame. This is often true of young bigs who take some time to agile their way into their incredibly large, tall, and long frames. Peyton Collins has a frame which commands respect. With his nearly 7-foot wingspan, 6’7″ of height, and 280-pounds of heft, this guy figures to be among the more recruited linemen in the ’26 graduating class before all is said and done. We are looking for his PT to increase substantially this coming Fall. When his “man muscles and agility” arrives, look out! Friday Night Fletch.

Travis Moten may be the premier DL in Kentucky’s ’25 class. He had 83-tackles, 17.5-TFLs, 10.5-QB sacks, a FF, 2-FRs over his junior year and the 6’5,” DL has already been offered by EKU. Enjoy this feature and and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor of the country’s very finest beef jerky products. Friday Night Fletch.

If you look at his season statistics from ’22, they are very strong but we have seen and even featured players with better. So, what makes him so elite in the eyes of college recruiters? Two words…frame and growth potential. College coaches are betting on what the player, with high level development, may one-day become. We know quite a few coaches, who know quite a bit about football, who are ALL very impressed with this prospects frame and growth potential. For right now, he’s still a premier receiver in Kentucky’s 3A classification. Enjoy the feature. FL.

This prospect has been likened to Wandale Robinson. We watch him and believe him to be more of a Jay Becherer clone. Regardless, he is likened to two exceptional former high school players both of whom flourished in college. We believe before it is said and done, this kid here will do likewise. He is certainly putting in the work. Enjoy the feature. HB.
