Central looks to rebound from a tough road trip to open season
The season didn’t get off to the start any of us wanted. However, it is far too early to get too crestfallen. The Falcons from Fort Campbell are set to invade ‘The Gap’ and this is a winnable game. Obviously, we can ill afford the pratfalls and mistakes which plagued us on the road; but, should we get those things corrected, this is a very winnable game.

Friday Night Fletch's Prediction: Central wins by 7 at home!
Week one was a game we would do well to stuff into the recesses of our collective minds. Sometimes games get away from teams with young personnel getting a first real chance at shining under the Friday Night Lights.
Fort Campbell didn’t fare much better than we as both teams enter this pivotal game with 0-1 marks. Still there were some noteworthy performances for the Storm in the opening weekend.
Isaac Earl (’26) threw for nearly 200-yards (193) completing 17 of 38-passing attempts and gained over half of the ground yards the team compiled. Jeremiah Groves had a strong outing.
Groves (’26) caught 7-passes for 96-yards receiving and scored a TD. That is about the entirety of the sunshine.
Falcons scouting report
JaCaryous Perryman (’26) completed seven of 21-passing attempts for 95-yards with a pair of TDs. Perryman rushed for 32-yards on 17-carries to accentuate his passing performance.
KeShawn Dixon (’26) is a defender of whom an offense better take some notice. Dixon chipped in 11-tackles in the opener, registered an INT, and logged a TFL.
These two players featured here are the man threats for the Falcons coming into Friday night’s game. Fort Campbell is coming off a five win season and a playoff birth, its best season in quite a while.
The Plan
The plan here is simple, the Storm has to establish a credible ground attack. It is about impossible to meet with much success in KHSAA football rushing for 19-yards on the night.
The passing game showed some effectiveness from time to time but we can’t just lean on the pass to the exclusion of the running game. Additionally, we have to cut way down on the turnovers and the costly pre-snap penalties.
The good news…should the above occur, this is a very winnable game for the Storm. We have to contain Perryman, and we can’t let Dixon abuse our offensive game plan, like he did to Clarksville Northeast, but we are talented enough and well enough drilled to come out Friday night with a strong an effective performance.
Now let’s all get out to the stadium, Friday Night, and cheer, cheer, cheer!
