Simon Rickman from Murray High is the Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week @simon_rickman10 @MurrayTigerFB @murrayhighFB @Dickerson_Coach @1776Bank @minguabeefjerky @840WHAS

Independence Bank has started a revolution in the financial services industry

’26 OLB/RB had a huge year on defense

Simon Rickman was selected to the All-WKC football team following his sophomore year and the Prep RedZone All-State defensive team. That is some pretty heady stuff for a sophomore. Rickman is a versatile athlete who stars on the track & field team together with his exploits on the gridiron. He had 88-tackles and nine QB-sacks a year ago and we believe ’24 will only see his role expand more onto the offensive side of the LS.

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bankplayer of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Today we honor ’26 OLB/RB, Simon Rickman, from Murray, Kentucky’s Murray High School.

Rickman’s Murray High  is very close to two valuable members of the Independence Bank family. There is a branch of Independence Bank on 507 North 12th Street and another one on 721 South 12th Street both in Murray, Kentucky. Today’s featured branch is located at 507 North 12th Street.

Simon Rickman had an incredible sophomore season. Rickman thrived on defense and got some limited offensive run which will probably expand significantly in 2024.

Friday Night Fletch

Rickman is a speed guy. Like a lot of speed guys, his spring sport is track & field.

Rickman registered 88-tackles to the team’s leader while only a sophomore. The ’26 star also registered two (2)-TFLs, nine (9) QB-sacks, and a forced fumble (FF).

For his efforts, Rickman made the prestigious All Western Kentucky Conference (WKC) football team. Prep RedZone selected the sophomore to its All-State defense.

Offensively, Rickman had a hand full of carries, averaged over six (6)-yards per carry, and even managed to snag a pass. Murray High’s top-two ground gainers from ’23 are out of eligibility which should mean more carries for the ’26, two-way stalwart.

Congratulations to Simon Rickman, both for his Revolutionary Play over the course of the ’23 season and that which is to come as we brace for the Fall of ’24 football and his new journey as a vital cog in the pantheon of Murray High’s football lore.

Independence Bank wants the community to know we stand prepared to help our friends and neighbors in every conceivable way. Sponsoring a series of articles to promote middle and high school football athletes in the communities we serve is an omnipresent example of this commitment.
