Mountain Combine Results

We had our first ever, Mountain All-State Combine at Pikeville High School in Pikeville, Kentucky. It was an NFL style combine which ended with individual position work and one on ones between different position groups. The reason for the combine was to enable KPGFootball to accumulate and expand its data base for the purpose of the All-State Football teams it anticipates selecting after the 2018 football season. We believe we will do an 8th grade team, a 9th grade team (again), and a 10th grade team (again). KPGFootball, as subscribers to the Associated Press, also votes in Kentucky’s selection of an AP All-State football team too, which is why the older players were there. The combine portion, the results of which are below reported consisted of two timed 40 yard dashes, two timed Pro-agility or Short Shuttles (5-10-5), 2 timed L-Cone Drills, and a bench press portion. In the bench press, middle schoolers were repping at the Middle School rep weight on the bench of 115 pounds, or they could elect to do timed pushups over a 30 second period. The High Schoolers repped at 185 pounds on the bench press, but were free to elect to rep at a lower weight should they choose. Some High Schoolers, who already had registered reps at 185 pounds of record, elected to rep at the College/NFL Combine weight of 225 pounds.
