This usually is a pretty fun article. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 5-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

Friday Night Fletch has become a commonwealth-wide phenomenon in high school football circles. Frankly and succinctly put, Fletcher Long knows twice as much about the world of KHSAA football as any one person alive today. He is an expert; he has done the work. Enjoy this article and let’s see Friday night how right or wrong he was.

We got online to write an altogether different feature than we ended up publishing. It is similar to catching a well hit line drive at a fielder’s head the fielder had little choice but to catch. Enjoy this feature about a player different from the one on whom we first intended to report. HB.

When you get to Kentucky 4A, that is the first class generally denoted as “Big Boy Football” within the commonwealth. For instance, players playing two-ways or “iron man football” at the 4A level or higher gets increasingly rare. Here is our best guess concerning how this classification shakes out this coming season. Enjoy! HB.

The featured photograph is of Corithian Seales-Portee of Union County. He had a really great night last Friday and he certainly wasn’t alone. By the way, this photograph was taken by Allison Evans for “The Crittenden Press.” Enjoy this regularly appearing series, “In the Running,” to learn more about “who is doing what” around the commonwealth. There were some exceptional performances around the commonwealth of Kentucky which will make the selection of a Mingua Beef Jerky “Protein-packed Performer” especially challenging this week. Any of the performances listed in this article could win it. All of these players have been nominated. Enjoy this look at what we found particularly noteworthy from the Kentucky high school gridiron this past weekend. HB.

December 31, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

It is one of the most controversial things we do all year. It is the publishing of the MS All-State Team. Today, we are publishing the Offense and will publish the Defense tomorrow. This team was selected from the nominations of our subscribers. Hey, membership has certain privileges, don’t know what to tell you. HB.
