Hightower is wracking up awards left and right these days

Something magical about running a football and being a ‘Hightower’ in Madisonville, KY

There is an old saying about an acorn not falling too far from its tree. It is usually said about fathers and sons, but it would appear equally applicable between brothers too, at least around the Hightower household. If you’re a Hightower, chances are you will run the heck out of a football.

Marquezz has an older brother who also played RB for Madisonville North-Hopkins. His name is Jeriah Hightower.

M. Hightower, MVP Future Stars

Like Jeriah, Marquezz played for the Kentucky Future Stars program. Like Jeriah, Marquezz won the MVP at the Tennessee-Kentucky Future Stars Classic. Like Jeriah, Marquezz is a big-bodied bruiser running over and through defenders leading North-Hopkins to win upon win.

What are your thoughts on a freshman running back with 420 rushing yards after four (4) games?

Hopkins County Scout, KPGFootball about Marquezz Hightower

Our Hopkins County scout contacted the magazine over the weekend. He asked us “What are your thoughts on a freshman running back with 420 rushing yards after four (4) games?” We knew of whom he was speaking without anything additional being supplied.

“Dude, Hightower is a stud,” we wrote back emphatically. “Those are our thoughts.”

Dude, [Marquezz] Hightower is a stud[!]

HB Lyon, KPGFootball

We don’t know what else can be said. Hightower is a ’26 running back who has gained 420-yards over his first four high school games in only 70-carries. Hightower has rushed for 4-TDs and scored another three (3) through the air.

Hightower is the ball club’s leading offensive scorer. Hightower is the club’s leading rusher. Hightower is among the team leaders in receptions and TDs receiving.

The 5’11,” 180-pound freshman is a star on a 3-1 football team enjoying the type success through four (4) games the team once knew when another “Hightower” aligned in the offensive backfield.

J. Hightower (look familiar?)

Marquezz has already won the player of the game from MaxPreps for the Crittenden County game. We believe he should have repeated for his efforts against Class 5A Christian County High.

Against the Colonels, Hightower, a freshman in high school (a point which bears repeating), gained 131-yards on 22-carries with two (2) TDs rushing. Hightower laughed a pair of passes and led the team in scoring, something which is beginning to become a weekly occurrence.

Hightower is going to commence his high school career (barring injury) with an over a thousand-yard rushing season…

HB Lyon, KPGFootball

Forecasting the numbers forward through the remainder of the season, it would appear Hightower is going to commence his high school career (barring injury) with an over a thousand-yard rushing season. Hightower would look poised to be the club’s leading scorer by year’s end too.

Matter of fact, should Hightower continue to perform along the arch he has set for himself through his first four games of his freshman campaign, Marquezz will end up breathing rarified air reserved for only the very best of Kentucky HS RBs. One might say one has to be surnamed “Hightower” to perform commensurate to his present pace.

  1. Thank you for the brief on Marquezz Hightower, we expect big things from this young man. He is a very coachable athlete with a great football IQ, especially for a freshman. Coach Phaup
