Class of ’28 prospect is among the best OL in KY and carries a 3.8 GPA
At 6’4,” 265-pounds, there is little wonder why many pundits believe Kellan Hall to be the top rated OL in Kentucky’s ’28 graduating class. This guy was one of the center pieces of an offensive line behind whom Jackson Burke set the national high school completion percentage season record (214/257, 83.3%), threw for nearly 5,000-yards in only nine (9) games starting, and rung up 53-TDs against a lone INT. The team ran for close to 2,000-yards and around 35-rushing TDs. JaHyde Brown caught 92-passes for around 1,400-yards and close to 25-TDs receiving. These type numbers never happen without considerable help upfront.

Louisville, KY: Believe it or not, there are times when we miss on a player who should have made our All-State football team but, sadly, didn’t. We would point out that is our magazine’s failure and not the kid’s failure.
It is the very reason we publish the team a few days before the on-air Reveal Show. We figure, publish the team and if there are some glaring omissions; some coach, somewhere will point it out to us. This (of course) permits us the opportunity to rectify the omission before the team is “officially” announced, on air.
We are going to own our mistake and admit we missed on Kellan Hall. Hall should have been on our team.
Hall is a 6’4,” 265-pound sophomore who is rated by many different publications as Kentucky’s top-rated OL in the 2028 graduating class. Hall works out offseason with Chris Vaughn with Aspirations Gym and myriad are the number of big-timers Mr. Vaughn has developed and sent on their way to big time football.
Hall anchored an offensive line behind whom Jackson Burke set the national high school completion percentage season record (214/257, 83.3%). Burke also threw for nearly 5,000-yards in only nine (9) games starting and rung up 53-TDs against a lone INT.
The Centurions ran for close to 2,000-yards and around 35-rushing TDs behind Hall and his linemmates. JaHyde Brown caught 92-passes for around 1,400-yards and close to 25-TDs receiving. These type numbers never happen without considerable help upfront.

Most importantly, the Centurions just won the program’s fourth consecutive title. With the talent still cycling through the program, there is literally no telling when this run may end, if ever.
Okay, the statement “if ever” was a bit tongue in cheek. We realize the Centurions can’t continue to win yearly titles forever. Still, it seems they might. The run doesn’t seem to be nearing any type of an end with young talent abound on the roster set to return.

Hall carries a 3.8-GPA. That is a part of the formula kids sometimes forget. It is one thing to be a five star caliber player on the field. It is quite another to be a five star caliber student in the classroom. Hall is both.
Any kid wanting to cash in on the NIL lottery ticket these days will have to deal with the admissions committee first. These big time schools are gaining ever more stringent admissions requirements as the demand to attend that school increases while the number of available slots in the student body decreases.
It is becoming a game of musical chairs. You had better insure there is a seat under you when the music stops.
CAL will have plenty of talent returning, in addition to Hall, in 2026. Jackson Burke will be a junior in ’26. Burke completed 214 of his 257-passing attempts for 3,526-yards and 53-TDs against only one (1) pick as a sophomore.
The Centurions will also have JaHyde Brown returning. Brown, who will be a senior next fall, caught 98 balls for 1,566-yards and 24 TDs over his junior year. Brown should be right in the thick of the “Mr. Football” race in 2026.
Returning the type skill talent the Centurions will have available for ’26, together with linemen like Kellan Hall, should make Coach Hunter Cantwell’s ball club right formidable this coming season. Word to the wise, if you are a defender, and old No. 53 is anywhere in your vicinity on that Friday Night football field, you might to want to keep your head on a swivel.
Then again, what do we know?
