Class of 2020 Tyquez Douglas, Clarksville NE High School, is the Meeks and Meeks Montgomery County Player of the Week

As you are aware, we both have and continue to cover Clarksville, Tennessee talent, and talent from the Clarksville metropolitan area, as part of our coverage area largely because we are principally based in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Hopkinsville and Clarksville comprise one metropolitan area in spite of one city being in Kentucky and the second laying just across the Tennessee state line.

Well, we are proud to have partnered with the law firm of Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys to feature a weekly article promoting a Clarksville-Montgomery County area prep football player. Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys is a full service law firm covering all areas within the realm of general practice from domestic to criminal defense, contracts to malpractice, Will & Estates to civil and criminal matters in General Sessions.

If you have a problem, they have a solution. If you feel like you’re drowning, they are the life raft. Call them at 931.645.3888 or just drop by 137 Franklin Street in Clarksville, Tennessee 37040.

Really talented and fast back-four play is hard by which to come at levels much higher than either Tennessee or Kentucky, 5A high school football. Players like Tyquez Douglas don’t just fall in one’s lap every day.

Douglas is a guy who may play some safety for the Eagles in 2019 but the 5-9, 165-pounder has the build which more identifies with playing corner. Last year at Christian County HS, Douglas made 47 tackles, forced 3 fumbles, recovered one, and picked-off two passes.

However, even if he does align at safety, Tyquez’s 37-inch vertical makes him play much taller than his listed height. Douglas at corner was widely considered one of the very elite players at that position anywhere in the western end of the Bluegrass. His above listed junior season statistics bear testimony as to why he was so regarded. Here are his junior season highlights.

In joining Clarksville NE High School, he joins Clarksville, Tennessee’s most storied and regularly talented football program in what amounts to Tennessee’s fifth largest city. With players like Travis Stevens and Jalen Reeves-Maybin having played at Northeast, it only seems appropriate this particular 3rd-level, defensive stud should fit right in with a program set up to showcase talent like his.

The big thing at either corner or safety in Class 5A, Tennessee high school football is can the player run? What’s his speed? The Eagles have been pleased to discover what the fans are shortly to learn. Douglas is plenty fast, having been timed consistently at 4.5-seconds covering 40-yards. With a GPA of 3.6, to go along with his athletic prowess, his is the perfect intellectual and physical skill-set to quarter-back the third level of the Eagles’ defense.

To the Eagles, great addition. To Tyquez Douglas, welcome to BIG-TIME Tennessee High School football. To all the Eagles fans waiting to see what this kid can do, you certainly are lucky.

Congratulations to the Clarksville Northeast High Schools’ Tyquez Douglas, Class of 2020, for being chosen our Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, Montgomery County Area Players of the Week! Join us next week as we award this to another worthy recipient.
