Jo Byrns High School’s Bobby Ogg is the Stewart Williams Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week

Both KPGFootball and the Stewart Williams Furniture Company wants to make the dreams and aspirations of the young athletes in and around Robertson County come true. After all, Robertson County has supported Stewart Williams all these years. That is why, when the opportunity presented to partner with KPGFootball to promote area, young football players, or even a coach or two, in the hopes the players’ athletic achievements would net for their families and them a college education and a better life, Stewart Williams said, count on us.

Remember when the kickers/punters were the best athletes on any football team? Go back and look at action photos of your early Heisman winners and you will find they almost all punted or place-kicked or both.

We are pretty sure Jo Byrns’ head coach will be happy to remind you games are either won or lost, many times, on special teams. It may be the part of the game both less featured and often forgotten; but, at the end of the night, if one goes back and looks, the play on special teams will have greatly either lent itself to the team’s victory or doomed the team to bitter defeat.

At Jo Byrns High School it would appear they have put one of its finer athletes at PK. Bobby Ogg is a baseball star at the high school, stars at SF on the varsity basketball team, is the regular placekicker this coming Fall, and can even play OLB. The 6-3, 147-pounder is “skinny as a rail” but he has tremendous length, with his 76-inch wingspan, and his being skinny is, in no doubt, attributable to his having no offseason with all the varsity sports he plays.

Congratulations, to Bobby Ogg of Cedar Hill, Tennessee for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.

Reporting for KPGFootball, this is F.W. Long, reminding all of you ballers out there that #WeGotUCovered and to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE.
