We are down to the “Elite Eight.” We will take a look at the matchups in each classification and hint at where we think how some of these games will go. Every now and again, we pick games. We have had tremendous success doing it. We thought we would break down one of the better Round 2 matchups to take place tomorrow night and let you see all the analysis which goes in to our picking a football game. We aren’t exactly throwing crap against a wall and seeing what sticks. We have a method here. HB.
We are at the win or go home point in the career of these seniors across the commonwealth. There will be a point in the not too distant future where we will stop featuring ’23’s to highlight the classes who will compete again next season in this seemingly endless merry-go-round. For now, let us bask in the glory of some of these ’23s, and specifically the ones who have battled so valiantly and performed so brilliantly. HB.
Well, yesterday against Tinity began promisingly but we were sort of in like a lion and out like a lamb. Still, one could see that there is a very thin line from where Centre is as a program and where it is going. We need to eliminate mistakes and take better car of the football, but should we, one can easily see conference championships and NCAA runs in the program’s future.
The regular season is in the books. The RPI will be used to seed teams, but other than that it is also pretty useless. We are 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in SAA competition, still holding our destinies in our own hands. A win over highly regarded Trinity Texas, and one over BSU in Birmingham a week later, will crown us “Kings of the SAA Conference” and guarantee a bid to the NCAA’s. It doesn’t matter what we have done before now, now is the only thing which counts. Go Colonels!
Bardstown is sitting at 9-0 on the year with East Jessamine the only thing standing between the Tigers and a perfect regular season. Bardstown has the highest RPI in the commonwealth at its level of play. These guys look the part to us, as does their splendid young defender Amonti Marshall (No. 7, ’25). Enjoy the feature. HB.
Football is a tall man’s game, huh? Well we know some players throughout and around Kentucky who may beg to differ. JT Adams is as tough as they come at the MLB position for Paducah’s Blue Tornado. The Centre Colonels raised its record to 3-1 with a road loss to a very good Trine team its only blemish. Still, proponents of offensive football have to be concerned with how Centre is performing as the team just keeps imploding offensively. Can the defense continue to carry the ball club into the winner’s circle? Well, that is the $64 question, no isn’t it? HB.
