We have another good one for this week’s Revolutionary Player in Scottsville’s Payton Cope. Okay, technically Independence Bank doesn’t have a Scottsville branch but it has a Bowling Green branch on Scottsville Road. Looks like the commonwealth’s fast growing bank appears headed that direction anyway. Enjoy this feature and join us next week as we will do this all over and gladly. HB.

Lucas Hughes from @HoptownFootball is the @minguabeefjerky ‘Protein-packed Player of the Week.’ @PrepSpin @1776Bank @MaxPreps @KyHighFootball

This week’s Mingua Beef Jerky’s Protein-packed performer is OT Lucas Hughes (’22) from Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Sometimes a company which prides itself on selling only the finest cuts of beef needs to recognize the guys up-front who make a living moving meat around a football field. This offensive lineman’s best football is still ahead of him. Enjoy the feature and join us again a week from today where we will do this for the next worthy recipient. HB.

’22’s Lucas Hughes from @HoptownFootball exploded on the @CCHSColonelsFB Friday night and demonstrated why his ‘upside’ has recruiters talking… @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @KyHighFootball

We believe in rewarding and reporting on outstanding line play at KPGFootball. We have been sent clips from the performance of Lucas Hughes from Friday night’s game with cross-town, hated rival Christian County and we must confess we were impressed. This 6-4, 270-pound class of ’22 “late bloomer” is showing that the flower which blooms last often blooms longest. Enjoy the feature. HB.

For this week’s award we head back to the Derby City where some mighty fine football is played and exceptional banking is daily rendered. This week we honor the QB/ATH who finds countless ways to contribute to the success of his squad, C/O ’23’s Tristen Hawkins. Enjoy this feature and join us again next week! HB.

We went a little off-script this week. For the first time since the award was incepted, we awarded the prize to a player whose information wasn’t included within the Monday article, “In the Running…” Hey, we have to keep people honest and mix-it-up occasionally. Anyway, enjoy this look at one of Kentucky’s undiscovered diamonds in the rough, Betsy Layne’s Chase Mims, 6-5, 215-pound QB and class of ’22 standout! HB.

@c_pennington10, c/o ’22 QB committed to @HerdFB is filling the Friday night air with footballs. @sayrespartans @lexsayrefb @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @KyHighFootball

Being a Pennington isn’t easy. Being a Pennington headed to Marshall to play QB will prove to be even more challenging. So far Cole Pennington has performed excellently and led a new program to unprecedented heights in 1A’s toughest district. Enjoy this feature about an acorn which didn’t fall too far from its tree. HB.

Ethan Gough from @SrHighFootball; in @KyHighFootball are ‘Goughs’ ever really freshmen? @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @1776Bank @AGLOADING26

What do you do when you are joining a roster your big brother just left as the school’s all-time, career tackler. Ethan Gough would say just take his number and show everyone you can play a little football too. That is exactly what Ethan “Big E” Gough is doing. Better watch out Red Devil opponents, there’s more to come from a No. 26 named Gough on that Senior High team going forward. KPGFootball is glad to be well position to enjoy the ride! Enjoy the feature. HB.
