Zane Cartwright and his Mayfield Cardinals travel to Fort Mitchell tonight to take on the defending champion in 2A football in Beechwood Independent High School. The reigning “Mr. Football” will be under center for the Tigers. The Cardinals will have the reigning Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week under center for them. One thing is certain, not a single fan from either team will file into the stadium thinking the other has any chance at victory at all and that is what makes programs like these two so great. Enjoy this feature and join us again a week from today and we will repeat this exercise which makes our week. HB.

Raceland has had a terrific season. It is Thanksgiving Day and the season is still ongoing so football fans know that means the season has gone alone swimmingly. Much of the defensive success for the Rams is partly attributable to a pair of splendid 2nd-level defenders. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy this look at these two top-flight ’23s. HB.

@stocktonkeiran from @scottie_glasgow is this week’s @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer! @1776Bank @KyHighFootball @PrepSpin @MaxPreps

This week’s Protein-packed Performer player a position you don’t find many teams manning these days. Yessir, we have found us a full-back and this guy is a throw back to the Jim Brown/John Riggins/Bronco Nagurski types. This fellow looked a lot like Jim Brown against Bardstown in the Regional Championship. We thought we better get this big old Hoss some protein stat! Enjoy this feature and join us again a week from today when we award this prestigious award to another worthy recipient. HB.

@pths_football may have served official notice this past Friday night there is a storm brewing in the @KYHighFootball 3A classification. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @1776Bank @briiiann23

There are clouds gathering and the winds are beginning to howl. Yessir, there is a storm brewing on the 3A title horizon and it is one we could see forming as early as preseason. The Blue Tornado has gotten its game “together” at just the right time and the result of this “jelling” may be a football championship. Enjoy this article. HB.

Middle School Spotlight: @CamThomas2026_3 (Cam Thomas), c/o ’26, from @FootMiddle, step forward and take a bow. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @1776Bank…Happy Memorial Day!

We have before featured this middle school football phenom. He was on the Future Stars team this past summer and looks (to us) poised to return to the roster this coming summer. He is easily among the best 8th-graders playing the game today. Enjoy the spotlight on Cam Thomas. HB.

It is getting that time of year where we start making our list of players for whom we intend to vote onto the Associated Press All-State Football Team. We get some help from coaches across the commonwealth which we welcome. This kid here has had one of the finest freshman seasons at QB we have ever witnessed. Will we vote for him for All-State? We just might, we are sure to nominate him and insure his being on the ballot. You know, there is nothing saying an All-State QB can’t be a freshman. Enjoy this feature and congratulations to Berry gaining selection to the Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week. HB.

Wyatt Blake, ’22 ATH from @LC_Cougars, is the @minguabeefjerky ‘Protein-Packed Performer’ of the week! @KyHighFootball @1776Bank @PrepSpin @MaxPreps

We love versatility at Mingua Beef Jerky and at Kentucky Prep Gridiron. Players who find many ways to make their teams succeed have already taken one tremendous “life lesson” from the sport of football which will keep that young person in good stead as he travels down life’s road. This guy here is as versatile and outstanding as any player in his graduating class. No telling where Logan County would be without him. With him, they are breathing some fairly rarified air. Enjoy the feature and join us again next week for another installment. HB.
