’31 DL/OL an UA NEXT All-American with a 3.6-GPA
There is a reason the Bowling Greens are challenging for Kentucky titles year in and year out. Not the least of these reasons is talent development in the programs feeding the high school roster. Bowling Green Junior High boasts one of the better programs in the KYMSFA which routinely produces some of the better talent coming into the KHSAA yearly. This kid here will be an 8th grader but, boy or boy, is this guy a talent and a player. On top of all of that, he is also a spectacular student. Bowling Green, KY: We are discovering talent earlier and earlier these days. Who would have thought we could, ever, confidently predict a certain rising 8th-grader to be among the best positionally in his Kentucky-wide class and be right the majority of the time?
The fact is we can. The fact is we often do.
There is very little guess work involved in predicting a GARRETT PEARSON is among the best two-way linemen in his ’31 graduating class. There is very little guess work involved in predicting it will be close to impossible to not play him when he hits Mark Spader‘s varsity roster in 2027.
How many middle school linemen are 6’1,” weigh 250-pounds, make the Under Armor Next All-American Team, and are picked the Kentucky Middle School Football Association’s (KYMSFA) ’25 Player of the Year? How many of these same linemen sport 3.6-GPA’s?
We would submit the number would be few. You could probably count them on one hand over the past six (6) or so seasons.
Much of this development can be credited to the fine coaching the young man has received coming up the ranks in the Bowling Green community and, particularly, at the middle school football level. Some of the development is a reflection on his family, community, and the level of support from which he has so richly benefited.
Regardless of whom gets the credit, a lion’s share should be reserved for Pearson himself. Pearson has been responsible for putting in the work both on and off the field, in and out of the classroom.

Friday Night Fletch
So how sure are we Pearson hits the varsity lineup sometime his freshman season in ’27? We are confident. How sure are we he finds the starting rotation by his sophomore year (’28) and early? We would bet on it.
How sure are we Pearson will stud out this season (’26) for Bowling Green Junior High, make every relevant all-star, all-American, all-everything team this coming offseason and head off to the Senior High roster with tremendous ballyhoo and falderal? We would bet our house on it.
Will Pearson make his team and program better for his having been on the roster? That is the type kid KPGFootball believes him to be. That is what Pearson has been doing so far in his career. No real reason to stop, is there?
Give ’em heck, young playa! KPGFootball and Friday Night Fletch will be watching.
