’30 RB commits to KCD, could see early PT
Brandon Abren, Jr. has committed to play his high school football for the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats. The Bearcats are coming off a championship season but have sustained heavy losses in the backfield from a perspective of running the football. Last year, the Bearcats had not one, but two RBs make the Big Ass Fans, Small School All-State FB team in Paker Rudolph and Tyler Wilson. Those guys gained nearly 2,000-yards and scored 32-rushing TDs between them. There is a big, big opportunity here for an up and coming freshman RB like Abren to get himself some “Friday Night PT,” night one.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.
The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.
Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product.
Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator…and, these days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?
“Fanny” is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate logos…

Louisville, KY: Abren, between Louisville and Hopkinsville, is a big surname amongst football/wrestling talent. This latest edition is proving no different.

Brandon Abren, Jr., is among the best RBs in the 3030 class both Kentucky-wide and in the Derby City. Abren is also elite at the LB position.
We believe he will get an early chance at RB in the Bearcat backfield. We could see him getting second level defensive snaps too. Most of the pundits see him at RB, primary, going forward.
Abren has made the full accoutrement of middle school all-star teams and has even wrestled for “Team Kentucky.” That wrestling thing is both a big deal and wonderful off-season training for high school football.
Abren has a real opportunity to waltz straight into the starting backfield as a freshman. Kentucky Country Day is coming off a championship run which saw them finish 13-1 and beat Raceland-Worthington, 20-16, for the title.
Parker Rudolph and Tyler Wilson both made Big Ass Fans’s Small School All-State Football team in ’25. The pair gained nearly 2,000 yards and scored a combined 32-rushing TDs.
These guys have exhausted their eligibility. That leaves quite the opportunity for any young, hot shot, RB. Abren has committed to play there.

Abren’s commitment to the Bearcats couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. Abren will not be given the job. There is still the matter of beating out the likes of Deion Davidson (’28) and Nic Doster (’27) for those first-team carries.
Abren has the skills. Abren has the size and optimal speed for his level of development.
Abren will get bigger, stronger, quicker, and faster. As a top-notch grappler, he will win the leverage battle now; he will play lower than his competition. That is a guarantee.
Abren is among Kentucky’s very best in the ’30 class at both RB/LB
Friday Night Fletch
We don’t have much statistical support for our position regarding Abren’s prowess. We have talked with future Hall of Fame coach, Marvin Dantzler. He has sung this kid’s praises. That is good enough for us.
We are familiar with the Abrens as a family. There are quite a few Abrens around the Derby City. There are quite a few around Hopkinsville. The Abrens we have encountered are all blood related.
Abrens men are tough as a rule. Abrens men are darn accomplished as football players. There have been quite a few Abrens men play collegiately.
This edition of the Abrens family, Brandon Jr., looks to us to be a “chip off the old block.” At least, KCD sure hopes so…
Then again, that may be just we. We have always been different breeds of cat.
