Pretty hard to celebrate a team’s going 1-9 and missing the playoffs. Particularly in the age of everyone gets a trophy where we see more and more teams make the playoffs. As we have discussed Ad nauseam, there are very good football players toiling away on pretty dysfunctional football teams. At KPGFootball and at Stewart Williams Furniture Company we believe the good players toiling in anonymity are also deserving of some recognition. Take the Patriots John Glodoski for instance.

Glodoski is number 53, taken from off his Hudl page

Big John played both ways for the Patriots this season and performed admirably, and without much fanfare, from both sides of the football, defensively and offensively. Offensively, Glodoski was positioned at LT where he could use his long, lean frame (6-4, 230 pounds) and quick agile feet to guard the QB’s blind side. On defense, the 2019 prospect, whose Hudl page is herein linked, used both his limberness and quick-twitch leg kick to explode off the ball and dip under the opposing blocker’s hands. Glodoski showed an ability to bend around the opposing tackle and apply pressure to the other team’s passer together with an ability to get into the backfield and be a general disrupter.

Sadly, the Patriots will be without John Glodoski as he has now exhausted his eligibility. John is a member of the class of 2019. I suppose, looking back, especially with John’s frame and length, the question will always be fairly asked just how good of a prospect Glodoski could have been had he played at a school experiencing better Friday-night fortunes than the fortunes realized by the Patriots over the course of Glodoski’s tenure. Well, still didn’t stop Big John from winning one of our coveted Player of the Week Awards.

Congratulations to John Glodoski for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s, Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
