It is Future Stars weekend and we generally are focused on players. However, we wanted even our sponsored content to have a “Future Stars’ Feel” and our list of sponsors obliged. This week we decided to focus on a member of the Tennessee Future Stars’ coaching staff who hails from Robertson County. Our Robertson County Football Coach of the Week, and the first such recipient though likely not to be the last, is Greenbrier’s Glen Campbell.

Coach Campbell has a long and impressive résumé which spans successful stints as both a head and assistant football coach at the high school, and even middle school, levels. Coach Campbell has been the head coach at varsity programs like Martin Westview in Martin, Tennessee together with stints as an offensive coordinator at powerful programs like Springfield High School.

Along the way, his specialty has been developing QBs, where Coach Campbell has displayed his wares on two of the last three Future Stars staffs. Campbell has been battling marrow cancer which it appears he has licked with the same enthusiasm generally reserved for gridiron opponents.

After this stint on the Tennessee Future Stars staff, Campbell will resume his coaching duties in Greenbrier, Tennessee before reporting to Dallas, Texas as the East All-American Team’s HC in the Bret Cooper Junior All-American game. He has made players better people and footballers at every stop along the way. If that isn’t worthy of celebration, then we have to wonder what is?

Congratulations, to Glen Campbell of Greenbrier, Tennessee for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Coach of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
