This guy is a ’23. Yeah, I know this time of year we should be focusing on ’24’s and later. However, we badly missed on covering this guy when he was still a high schooler and he is going to play collegiately for Coach Luttrell at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky and they are a team we cover. So anyway, here is the Revolutionary Player of the Week. FL.

Here is a kid who has been out in the working world and realizes that college degree changes his entire career arc. He is getting an opportunity to go to Barbourville, Kentucky and play for John Luttrell’s “Bulldogs.” Coach Chris Manning at Hopkins County Central has made it happen for him. That is the kind of man for whom I would want my son to play. HB.

Roger Duncan is a senior who helped propel Warren East to unprecedented height this past season. Now it is time to learn where this slightly thin TE will pledge his next four years. Union College has offered. Will there be others? Their flat should be! Fletcher Long

Evan Miller is one of the better framed out ’24s at the Center position along the interior OL. Here is the rub. He has to beat out his younger, hard-charging little brother Carson to hold on to the spot. This should be a spirited battle going forward and the winner will be the Bobcat program and the losers will be the Bobcat opponents. Hey, this is what makes high school football the greatest game on earth in this publication’s opinion. HB.

There are some schools around Kentucky absolutely feasting on in-state football talent in filling out the programs’ football rosters. We couldn’t be happier about it. Some real ‘prime-timers’ are finding considerable value in pursuing options other than waiting around and hoping there is room left for them at the heel of some bigger school’s football program during these uncertain, unchartered times. Because of this, some D-1 skill sets are finding their way into the student bodies of some prestigious academic institutions and on the rosters of some prestigious football programs. In-state college football play will absolutely benefit. Many area schools are already nationally ranked at their levels of play. These kids stand the chance to really benefit too. Enjoy this article. HB.

Team Kentucky Future Stars-8th, Evan Miller, Class of 2023, from Breathitt County. He’s from the mountains…He is a mountain!

One of the big advantages the commonwealth of Kentucky has in the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic over its Tennessee counterparts is our ability to mine the coalfields up in Eastern Kentucky for rugged, tough, and often huge linemen. Evan Miller is such a specimen. This kid is 6-2, 305-pounds now and judging by what he did to the size 17 cleats he brought to the Somerset combine, he’s only just begun to grow. Enjoy this article about “the next big thing” at the tackle position in Kentucky HS football, circa Class of 2023.
