Slow Motion Replay: Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf(e)? Perhaps everyone should be! @MaleBulldogs, @LMHSCoachWolfe, @Aspirationsgym, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans

We don’t know ultimately who’s afraid of the big, bad Wolfe; but we know who should be…the teams having to face the Bulldogs this coming Fall. Chris Wolfe has been among the very best coaches in the business since he took his first job at Hancock County in 1997 and quickly led them to a 10-3 finish in 1998. Wolfe then went 46-25 at Waggener (1999-2004), taking them to the 2000 semis, and finally 18-16 at Pleasure Ridge Park (2005-2007) before landing at Male High as Bobby Redman’s successor. This is a pass-first, explosive play hunting, offensive innovator who recognized he would have to move the ball, through the air, and for large chunks of production to regularly compete with and overcome the teams in Louisville he would have to schedule. Enjoy this feature, Tra la la la la.

Ross Powers is a 5’7,” 190 pound football playing stud entering his senior year for the Hancock County Hornets. What did he do as a junior? Well he registered 162-tackles, 14-TFs, 3-sacks, 3-FFs, 3-FRs. That is quite a mouthful. Enjoy this look at the star MLB for Coach Bob Eubanks’ Hornet’s nest from Lewisport, Kentucky. Butler County may not be quite there yet; but the roster talent has them firmly in the Hunt! @brodyhunt_ @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @OCathFootball @MaxPreps @HLpreps @kyhighs @1776Bank @Coach_Owens12

Brody Hunt has his Bears right in the thick of things these days in the always tough 2nd District. Hancock, McLean, and Todd County Central are all playing lights out and Owensboro Catholic has settled into its accustomed role of 2nd District “Bully.” The team which has commonly been the “odd man out” is now playing lights out. Do the Bears have to beat the Rebels from. Todd County to get in the playoffs this year? Is the win over a 7-1 McLean team destined to turn one of McLean’s best teams in recent memories into playoff spectators? Enjoy this feature. HB.

Logan Willis is not a player foreign to this publication. We have before written about him and doubt this will be our last time either. He is a pulverizing punisher of a runner who gets downhill in a hurry. We are excited about his senior season and so should you be. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Here is a kid who is talented, has plus length, a nose for the football, and can literally develop into anything he really wants to play. Who has two thumbs and was the 11th-leading tackler in Kentucky’s 2A Classification while only a sophomore? Aiden Weatherholt from Hancock County, that’s who! Enjoy the feature and join us next week as we coronate another worthy Kentucky player. HB.

This is a new concept we are calling the “Second Time Around.” All of the teams we have chosen to feature played the other during the regular season. These are five matchups we believe may turn out differently than when the two teams first met in 2020. Here is our breakdown. Enjoy the article!
