Hey, we are fans of the colleges and universities fielding football teams across Kentucky, as are our advertisers, so why not? This kid here is high on the Centre wish list and already holds numerous offers at prestigious schools for his services. Can the Colonels land this guy? We hope so.
College recruiters are always inquiring and searching for an attribute known as “growth potential.” Growth potential is (basically) the likelihood a prospect’s best football and pronounced physical development still lies ahead of him. These are the “late bloomers.” Jacob Parker may embody this attribute better than any player who made either our Small or Large School All-State Football Teams. College football is no joke, and Tate Johnson is serious about it. Well, the Danville, KY, near-IVY league college with the ancient and prestigious football program has done what it does seemingly every offseason. The Colonels have gained a commitment from arguably the best high school football player in the entire commonwealth. This guy has been wowing fans across the commonwealth since taking home the Championship Game MVP two-years ago. Now he takes his game to a larger stage and to the brighter lights of Andy Frye Stadium.
Centre had a tough afternoon in Birmingham Alabama against conference powerhouse, Birmingham Southern University. The defensive performance was a debacle. That may be the only way to say it. HB.
Well, the Colonels put together 4-Quarters on Saturday, just not the brand of 4-Quarter play Centre fans were hoping to see. Saturday we saw four entire quarters of offensive ineptitude. Trine was a tough out a year ago at home in Danville, Kentucky. This year, in Angola, Indiana, there were perfectly insurmountable. We have no time for idle sympathy as in-conference opponent Rhodes College is salivating waiting for our arrival in Memphis, Tennessee October 1. We better come loaded and ready for Lynx or it could turn into a second consecutive ‘long afternoon.’ HB.
