The Beechwood Tigers have won 12 Class A Kentucky State Football Titles. The name alone evokes dread and anxiety from programs much larger than the one in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Well for those wondering, it was a wild and woolly Friday night of football around Kentucky. Saturday night will be exciting too. Here are some of the games from around Kentucky which resonated with KPGFootball and what we know or think we know after two games played. Enjoy the article and some of you won’t.
We thought it would be fun to look in on one of the Kings of Kentucky Football, the Beechwood High School Tigers. The boys from Fort Mitchell have put up both an enviable and unmatched record of sustained excellence which includes 3 State 1A football titles in a row (2016, 17, 18), one runner-up (2015), 5 Regional Titles and appearances in the Semis (2009, 10, 11, 12, and 14) and a regional runner-up in 2013. Over that decade the Tigers have averaged an 11-3 mark per season and won slightly over 78% of the games in which it has played. Needless to say, they don’t rebuild, they reload. Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 2A!
