Sometimes the winner of this award doesn’t have the “stand alone numbers” one generally sees from his position group. However, Mingua Beef Jerky also prizes players who invent ways to make things happen even when the opposing defense is trying desperately to take away from that player what he generally contributes. Such was the case Friday night in the Mingua Beef Jerky Bowl. Boyle County’s Jagger Gillis had an extraordinary performance, though in an out of the ordinary sort of way. Nevertheless, we believe you will find his contributions more than deserving. We did. Enjoy the feature and join us again next week as we do all of this again. HB.

This week’s recipient, Zach Clayton, and his cohorts at McLean County High School had a bad night against Owensboro Catholic. Lots of Western Kentucky, Class 2A football teams can make the same claim. However, this Clayton guy has been playing really well all season as have a few of his teammates. Enjoy this look at another player who provides excellent value to the team’s bottom line. Sort of sounds like Independence Bank now doesn’t it? HB.

This week’s award recipient came up big in the biggest game of the year for his team to date. Trenton Cutwright had a great night in Bryan Station’s win in Richmond Friday night against highly regarded Madison Central High School. Matter of fact, the sophomore signal caller is having quite a season. Enjoy this feature. HB.

We had another big week and so did these guys we have featured in this weekly series. This week we feature 21-current stars among the performances “singled out.” We believe one of these guys is very likely to win the Mingua Beef Jerky Award this Wednesday. We know this…there isn’t a bad choice in this entire article. Enjoy this look at some of the very fine performances we saw this past Friday night. HB.
