’26 dual threat QB looks to improve and a fine junior campaign
Mason Trimble is a real athlete and program defining, dual threat type QB. St. Xavier finished 7-5 a year ago and had one of its worst seasons in recent memory. When you win seven games in the Derby City’s 6A ranks, and your fans are miffed; that says a little something about the quality of the football people have come to expect. St. Xavier is “one of those programs” we come to expect to challenge for Kentucky supremacy, season in and season out. Mason Trimble looks to “right the ship;” and, this year, he will have to do it without certain, future Hall of Fame coach Kevin Wallace, who retired last season. If I were taking the reins to one of Kentucky’s “power programs” I would relish having an athlete the ilk of Mason Trimble at the controls of my offensive attack.

Mingua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Mason Trimble, ’26 dual threat QB from St. Xavier High in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville, KY: St. Xavier is the kind of program fans have come to expect will challenge for Kentucky supremacy, year in and year out. That is the price of winning 15 KHSAA football titles mostly at Kentucky’s largest classification of competition (1962, 1969, 1974, 1975, 1978, 1986, 1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2016, 2021, and 2023).

That has its advantages. It also kind of sucks some days.
It means no one is going to look at the 7-5 posted in ’24 as anything apart from a dismal season. You and I know winning seven (7) games against the commonwealth’s largest and most athletic competition doesn’t make one a dog, but then again there are the St. X fans…
The Tiger faithful will be looking for a bounce back season upcoming. With Mason Trimble at the controls of the offense for a last tour around Kentucky, the outlook appears bright. Having an accomplished, dual-threat returning at QB is a mighty good start on the road to redemption.
Trimble passed for 2,300-yards, completed 66% of his passing attempts, and only threw five (5) INTs against 21-TDs
KHSAA Statistical Website
Last season, in 12-games, Trimble passed for in the neighborhood of 2,300-yards, completed 66% of his passing attempts (No. 1 in Kentucky 6A), and threw for 21-TDs against only five (5) INTs. Trimble rushed for 315-yards and another four (4) scores.

A picture of Trimble sort of explains quite a bit. Trimble is 6’1,” and weighs in at 190-pounds. Trimble plays sevens for Indy Select (7 on 7s) and looks likely headed to a Kentucky ranking in the ’26 class among QBs ranked by QB Hit List.
Look for this kid to be heavily courted beginning this summer. There has been a ton of interest in him and we believe the Sevens Season will be one where he will likely fetch some offers to continue his football career.
Next year, look out! I know some Tigers who will be looking to gain a measure of revenge from last season.
You know what the Indian proverb says about Tigers; The only thing more dangerous than riding a Tiger is the dismount. There are some programs out there in Kentucky this coming season about to learn just how true and clever that saying really is.
Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Saint Xavier’s Mason Trimble.
