St. Xavier prospect saved his most prolific output for when it mattered most

Marlin Harbin, III, from St. Xavier High is among the best “athletes” in Kentucky’s ’26 graduating class. The kid plays on both sides of the football and plays special teams (three phase deployment), at one of the more prestigious and successful programs at any level of play, and happens to compete in the largest classification in the KHSAA, Kentucky 6A. Harbin is a 5’11,” 175-pound, three phase contributor and four (4) sport varsity athlete at one of the more prestigious institutions in both the Derby City and the Bluegrass.

Louisville, KY: Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Marlin Harbin, III, ’26 ATH and 3-star nationally ranked prospect from Louisville, Kentucky.

Marlin Harbin, III, is a nationally ranked prospect in one of the major recruiting services in existence today (247Sports.com). This doesn’t come as any surprise around the St. Xavier High School football program located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Harbin, a four-sport athlete for the Tigers and considered among the best athletes in the high school game in Kentucky’s 2026 graduating class, had quite a season in ’23, his sophomore year. Harbin accumulated 840-all purpose yards, caught 52-passes, had six (6) receiving TDs, housed a kick return, registered 11-tackles, logged a pair of INTs, one of which he housed.

Yessir, Harbin was a three-phase contributor, as a sophomore, for one of Kentucky 6A’s most loaded rosters. Harbin had a big game against Trinity high last weekend. There are those around Kevin Wallace’s Tiger program who would insist that is saving the performance for when it is most important.

Against Trinity’s Shamrocks, Harbin carried it 19-times, gained 116-yards, scored a pair of TDs (huge contribution in a 16-10 final score), registered both a tackle and an INT.

Now St. Xavier has a big game upcoming on Friday night in Louisville, Kentucky against the Ryle High Raiders. If you checked the Durden Ratings Index (DRI), you would know Ryle is rated the second best team in all of KY (all classifications) and second in Kentucky 6A.

Neither Trinity nor St. Xavier are ranked in the top-25 nor the 6A index. The DRI’s disclaimer says only teams with five in-Kentucky games would be ranked by the service. St. Xavier and Trinity are both 4-2, but St. Xavier has played two teams from out of Kentucky and Trinity has played three.

They will be prominently featured in future indexes, both the top 25 and in 6A we would warrant. We have run the numbers, and we hate to tell the Tiger faithful we believe Ryle beats St. Xavier by four (4) points. Of course, we picked Trinity to beat St. Xavier this past weekend and that didn’t occur.

In the end, what do we know anyway?

Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like St. Xavier’s Marlon Harbin, III.
