Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in an unsuccessful bid for a victory. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats were narrowly beaten by a Crittenden team who had to have felt fortunate to escape the encounter. The loss aside, and dropping to 1-5 on the year aside, the Wildcats still found elements about which to feel like there its considerable promise for the future under legendary coach, Curtis Higgins. Connor Bellows had another strong night and returned a pivotal kickoff 52-yards to give his team a chance when it needed a chance the most. These kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer and Bellows coming up, big-time, in pivotal moments will too. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the senior athlete who played his butt off in a pivotal moment, giving his team a shot at victory. He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed. Enjoy this look at Connor Bellows who (for a second time) is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company All-State Player of the Week and another patch-recipient as we enter district play and the stretch run.

What an upset this past weekend, as Kentucky Country Day over Campbellsville denied me my first perfect weekend. Oh well, 14-1; I’ll take it. Parker Rudolph had quite the night and, not only was it statistically impressive, it came against the best team in the classification. Look out for KCD, they are alway quite good but this bunch may be special.

We are welcoming a new corporate sponsor to the family in Big Ass Fans out of Lexington, Kentucky. We imagine this article will become a regularly appearing Friday serial similar to some of the sponsored content we have before published here. Bit Ass Fans has committed itself to quality more than the mere size of its industrial sized fans. The product is backed by commitment to performance, reliability, and innovation which has been a driving force behind the company in the twenty or so years it has existed. Enjoy this feature.
