@JusticeThomps (Justice Thompson), Class of 2021, @BallardFball (@BHSBRUINS, @BallardHSSports) is the Independence Bank, Revolutionary Player of the Week

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded expectations in 2019 and who will be vitally important to Ballard’s success in 2020. Today, we are focusing on Class of 2021, MLB, Justice Thompson, from Louisville Ballard High School.

Thompson’s Ballard Bruins are located right down the road from an Independence Bank branch on 3901 Shelbyville Road. Go and visit the most rapidly growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Independence Bank has started a revolution in the banking industry.

We want to make ourselves perfectly clear. If we are deploying linebackers on a football team and could pick any, from any team, spanning the entire breadth of the commonwealth of Kentucky, we are certain Justice Thompson would start for us inside at either ILB or MLB. This, of course would depend on the scheme we were intent on running. Regardless of scheme, Justice Thompson is among the very elite players on the defensive second level in the commonwealth of Kentucky playing HS football. Period.

If you will look under his photograph, we have linked his highlights from his Junior year (blue type-set). Give that a gander and ask yourself when you have seen highlight approaching those out of a high-schooler?

Thompson registered 120-tackles as a freshman, back in 2017, and made the MaxPreps Freshman All-American 1st-Team at that season’s conclusion. Thompson was also selected to our KPGFootball Freshman All-State 1st-Team.

His sophomore year, he was selected to our All-State 1st-Team once again (this one for Sophomores). He had 121-tackles with 25.5 TFLs, 8 QB-sacks, and 4FFs.

Last year, with the cat-out-of-the-bag and the kid being the focus of every opponent’s scouting report, Thompson had another incredibly productive season. He collected 119-tackles, 23-TFLs, 2 QB-sacks, 4FFs, and 1FR. Thompson was selected to the Coach’s All-State Football 1st-Team at the end of 2019.

Going into his senior season, if there is a player in Kentucky who has registered many more tackles or has been any more widely decorated, especially playing 6A classification football, anywhere in our commonwealth we can’t imagine who it would be. The 6-1, 245-pounder has a career of 360-tackles, 48.5 TFLs, 10 QB-sacks, 8FFs, 1FR, 1-AA, and 3 All-State selections.

With a really big year, this particular Bruin could amass 500-tackles in his four year career at Louisville Ballard. That is why Division-I football recruiting coaches are circling the Ballard MLB like vultures around a rotten-carcass. That is why he is one of the very elite players across Kentucky at his particular position.

Congratulations to Justice Thompson, both for his Revolutionary Play in 2019 and that which is to come in 2020. His outstanding play, both in the past and that which is sure to come, has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, your friends at Independence Bank.
