@joshie_1k (Josh Rowe) from @bryanstationfb already has a @wmu_football offer and doesn’t appear to be slowing any…

Gotta love Kentucky, don’t you. Where else would you have a 6-4, 275-pound DE playing football in the 6A classification at the same high school which spawned NFL HOFer, Dermontti Dawson, and we are just know learning about him. Nice job recruiting services! Way to be good at your jobs.

We get a lot of good quality information from our commonwealth-wide contacts. We talk to these guys every day. In one of these calls, the name Josh Rowe came up and we responded we didn’t know anything about him. His highlights were sent to us and we were literally shocked at how good this kid appears to be.

First of all, let’s begin with Bryan Station making an excellent coaching hire in Phil Hawkins (@coachhawkins1 on Twitter). The reason we say that is no coach in Kentucky has done a better job of garnering recruiting interest for his kids than Coach Hawkins has over the years we have been covering Kentucky High School Football.

Stands to reason that almost immediately upon his hire recruiters started flocking to Bryan Station and started offering Josh Rowe. No one had heard of either Logan Weedman or Parker Bates until Hawkins got to Owensboro Apollo either and look at them now.

Josh is a 2021-kid who is 6-4 and weighs 275 pounds. We have seen film of him deployed both inside and on the edge. He has really good length, appears to be able to stifle an OT or OG’s onslaught, gain separation, and make plays at the line, and appears equally able to use his bend and burst to gain favorable advantage in an outside, upfield assault on the offensive backfield from DE.

Lexington kids don’t tend to get the same attention as the Louisville counterparts. Prospects like Dekel Crowdus, Walker Parks, Jager Burton, and the like have started to swing that pendulum back toward Lexington somewhat.

Well, you can add the name of Josh Rowe to the list of Lexington area kids starting to make big-time recruiters from top-flight programs fly into a different airport. This will be one to definitely watch as the 2020 season unfolds. For those Bryan Station fans out there, with players like Rowe and and a coach like Hawkins, the long draught may be finally concluded.
