If winning co-Mr. Football from the Associated Press isn’t worth this award and the prizes which come along with it, then what does one possibly have to do? All kidding aside, we have already awarded this distinction to Cameron Hergott so it is only fair Jager should get a T-shirt and some delicious beef jerky too. Enjoy this feature from our friends at the Mingua Beef Jerky Company. HB.

Here is something right amazing, almost exactly a year ago, December 29, 2019 to be exact, we featured then 8th-grade All American Jak Lindsey from Owensboro MIddle School. Well, a lot has happed since last year, like his starting in the 5A championship game for Owensboro High School as only a 9th-grader (man, we called this one) but he is still a super-star player, nonetheless. Enjoy the article. HB.

Here are our picks for the Semi-finals occurring tomorrow night. West Carter should be thrilled we didn’t pick them as it seems every time we disrespect them, they come away routing the other team. We may just disrespect them right into a championship. Anyway, there are several “upsets” we have taken here as this year has been anything but normal. Fletcher Long was furious with our Hoptown prediction (his alma mater) and vows we are all “crazy.” We shall see. HB.

William Long Weighs in on Top-30 List…

April 9, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

KPGFootball was contacted by one of Kentucky’s more decorated rising seniors, William Long, of Breathitt County High School. He said he wanted to go on the record about the Top-30 Preseason Offensive-Line selections. This article is what he had to say…HB.

KPGFootball’s take on the preseason Top-30 offensive linemen list

April 1, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

Every list ever published extolling the ability of any body of people have had people undervalued on the list, people overvalued on the list, and people glaringly omitted. No list is perfect. BoyleCo has done yeoman’s work here, and while we may not agree with the order, we can’t argue with any of the thirty he listed. We can and will give our opinion…and here it is. Enjoy the article. HB.

@joshie_1k (Josh Rowe) from @bryanstationfb already has a @wmu_football offer and doesn’t appear to be slowing any…

Here’s a 6-4, 275-pound grown man playing DE in Kentucky’s second largest city and largest classification of football competition virtually unknown to everyone outside of KPGFootball and Western Michigan University. Well, it is Kentucky. Try to learn something today as we feature a guy who has to be in the discussion of the best football prospects in Kentucky’s 2021 graduating class. HB.

It’s time for weekly winners…here are some of our predictions concerning games of interest to kick-off August 23rd…

August 18, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Throughout the season we pick weekly winners. It was one of our more popular segments a year ago. This year we will decide which games we cover based on our “hits.” Read us, you get covered. Ignore us, we ignore you. These are some Friday night match-ups in areas where we get a lot of views. We will come back in and pick some interesting Saturday night games later in the week.

Coach Lyon’s Class 5A preseason top-10 football poll…

July 28, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 4A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 5A and we will complete the series tomorrow with Class 6A!

We have wandered through the abyss that is the KHSAA “Dead Period” and into the first day of real preparation for the 2019 season. We call this the “first day” as (for most high schools) June practice is volitional. There is nothing volitional about July practice. We will be hard […]
