KPGFootball prides itself on having a keen eye for football talent. That is especially true when spying football talent before everyone else in the world “gets on them.” We feel we have done just that with today’s recipient.

His formal name is Jakob Chennault and he attends Jo Byrns High School in Cross Plains, Tennessee. He has an enviable frame for a kid slotted to play RB on offense and CB on defense. Chennault is a length 6-1 and presently weighs 170 pounds but should blossom into a 190 plus pound prospect once Coach Tom Adkins strength & conditioning program takes full hold.

Last year, East Robertson went 6-5, finishing 5-1 in its district. The Red Devils benefited from approximately 3 and 1/2 games of run from their talented, two-way sophomore before Jake broke his arm and was shelved for the rest of the season. In his minimal amount of action, Chennault still managed 12 tackles. On offense at RB, Chennault had several runs from scrimmage which demonstrated an ability to break through to the second level with good burst, pad-level, and explosion.

We are confident this is a kid, provided he stays healthy, whom will have a lot of coaches and sports writers buzzing about his play next year. Remember where you heard this when it happens, but Jake Chennault will have a big, big year next year, on both sides of the football, for the Indians.

Congratulations to Jakob Chennault from East Robertson High School for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
