Is Elkhorn’s Preston Schaffer the best RB in the @khsaafootball’s ’30 class? @PrestonSch48255, @Aspirationsgym, @JaylenGarnett24,@bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @ChiefSmoke10, @FCFlyerFootball, @FLYERATHLETICS

’30 RB scored 42-TDs, gained 3,100-total yards in 8th grade

A long, long time ago, when I was learning to be a journalist, it was recommended to never title a piece with a question. Such titled pieces, my journalistic mentor suggested, would always be answered affirmatively. Well, you see, that is alright in this regard. I am already of the opinion Preston Schaffer, from Frankfort, Kentucky, is the best RB coming up into the 9th grade across Kentucky. I already believe Schaffer will challenge for first team reps even at Franklin County High, a team coming off a 14-1 campaign and a state 4A finals appearance. So if you wish to infer the above titled question should be answered affirmatively, that is fine with us at “KPGFootball.” That was probably what we were implying anyway.

Frankfort, KY: How tall is Preston Schaffer, the class of 30 RB from Frankfort, KY? What does he weigh? What are his running times?

We don’t know. We don’t know anyone who does know.

This information isn’t generally known factoids about athletes leaving middle school for the varsity roster. This information will take a few combines and testing days in Summer/Fall camp to be discovered.

We can tell you, Schaffer looked plenty fast running away and separating from defensive back two levels all last season. If the kid can’t run, then why can’t any of these other kids able to catch him? Draw your own conclusions.

There are a few things about Preston Schaffer we do know. For instance, we know he gained over 3,100-yards as an 8th grader rushing and receiving. We know he scored around 42-TDs for Elkhorn Middle last season. We know he gained some 2,750-yards rushing.

We know Schaffer had an eight (8) TD game where he gained 410-yards. We know Schaffer works out with Chris Vaughn with Aspirations Gym in Louisville.

We know Schaffer made the Diamond, Middle School, All-American football game. We know Schaffer was the Diamond National Player of the Year for his play both at RB and OLB.

Actually, for an 8th-grade kid, we know quite a bit at least about Schaffer’s on field performance. There are other things about this prospect we may not know but believe.

For instance, we believe Schaffer is headed to Coach Eddie James varsity roster at Franklin County High School. We believe Franklin County is graduating its top three (3) ground gainers. We believe Schaffer has an excellent chance of coming in and getting RB-1 reps from the commencement of camp.

When you add the prospect’s on-field production and honors garnered to what we know and what we believe, the sum total for us equals yes. Schaffer is 3030’s top RB Kentucky-wide. It is a simple equation which nets a pretty obvious answer.

We were never good at math. Even we can work this problem to solution.
