@EdgrenSweat from @RecruitMCentral is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week. @PrepSpin @1776Bank @KyHighFootball

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, and never chopped or formed like other brands, make our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein Packed Performer of the Week, Class of ’22 LB, Edgren Sweat, for Madison Central High School in Richmond, Kentucky, wouldn’t it?

Edgren Sweat Highlights

Sweat is quite a good looking prospect, particularly at the inside linebacker position. The 5-10, 220-pounder can beef up some and play along a defensive front in college should a school choose to go that route.

You should remember this prospect. We selected him to our Sophomore All-State Defense just a year ago.

To refresh your recollection, this is what we had to say about him then. “Sweat is making our team at DL and he would probably play inside for us, maybe even at NG in an odd-front, if we were actually going to play a game.”

“Sweat was a defensive bright spot this season (’19) for Madison Central High School as he had 52-total tackles in his 11-games of action. However, way more impressively, Edgren collected 17-TFLs and 5.5 QB-sacks working primarily at DE.”

Sweat played LBer this past season, his junior year. His hard charging style and penchant toward making plays in an opponent’s backfield haven’t changed.

Sweat is what we call a down-hiller at MLB. His highlights, which we have linked under his picture, will plainly demonstrate that.

This hard-charger has been performing mighty well playing football in the 6A-classification’s 8th-District. Last year, his junior campaign, Edgren led the defense in tackles with 63 over the nine games of action. He accounted for 9.5-TFLs, 3.5 QB-sacks, and forced a fumble.

Edgren Sweat reports RB among his positions. We love his frame for either MLB or RB. He looks like all linebacker to us as his play has been limited at the RB position in both ’19 & ’20.

Madison Central was 1-8 in ’20. That performance was somewhat deceptive.

The Indians lost by 6 at home to Class 5A perennial power, Southwestern. The Indians were in the game the entire night, though losing, to both Dixie Heights and Lincoln County earlier in the year.

The Indians narrowly missed “knocking off” the District’s Kingpin, Bryan Station in Lexington, Kentucky in the first-round of last year’s KHSAA playoffs. The final in that one was Bryan Station 14, Madison Central 13.

The Indians have brought in legendary head football coach, and sure-fire future KHSAA Hall-of-Fame inductee, Mike Holcomb, to get things right on the reservation. He will find the cupboard far from barren.

We thought a guy like Edgren Sweat could use a bolt of protein. Mingua Beef Jerky has elected to send him some via the prize package of product which comes with this award.

Congratulations to Edgren Sweat, Class of ’22, from Madison Central High School on his selection. Join us next week as we honor another worthy player.

Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from all the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind, just like Madison Central’s Edgren Sweat.
