’25 RB has Patriots at 6-1; manageable homestretch upcoming
Chase Ross is a senior RB at Allen County-Scottsville (ACS) and the Patriots are putting on quite a historic performance for Coach Brad Hood so far this ’24 season. Ross has rushed, in seven games, for 727-yards in 85-carries (over 8.5-yards per rushing attempt) and has scored 10-TDs rushing while also leading the team in receptions, receiving TDs, and scoring. Ross is a three-phase contributor and among the better athletes playing 4A football in the KHSAA. How far will this Patriot team go? Pretty far, by our calculations.

Scottsville, KY: I don’t know whether you have heard about this or not, but 4A, D-1 has a new bully on the block. No, not Paducah Tilghman; they have historically been a “bully.” We are talking about Brad Hood’s Allen County-Scottsville (ACS) team.

The only team to top the Patriots this year was Tilghman, who has been embarrassing everyone (by the way). ACS has wins over Franklin-Simpson, Glasgow, Logan County, and Warren East.
ACS closes with winless, Calloway (99% chance ACS wins), in Murray; back home to play a Hopkinsville team better than its record would indicate (2-5, 88% chance ACS wins); and then back to Glasgow to play the county’s 6A version in Barren County High (6A, D-2; 80% chance ACS wins). All told, we have the Patriots with an 89% chance of running the table and entering the playoffs with a number 2 district seed at 9-1.
I would like to point out the 6A Barren County team which our computer algorithm believes ACS has an 80% chance of beating is 6-1, with its only loss being 14-6 to 6A perennial power, North Hardin. Our algorithm is trying to tell the readers something; ACS is really, really good. They are also legit.
Chad Ross is a three-phase guy who contributes mightily in all three phases
Friday Night Fletch, KHSAA statistical website
Chase Ross has been playing very well from his RB post. In fact, he is a three phase guy who has contributed significantly in all phases.

On the year, Ross has gained 727-yards in 85-carries (over eight and a half (8.5) yards per carry) while scoring 10 rushing TDs. Ross has led the team in receptions with 12, receiving yards with 249, and receiving TDs (for a team which throws it sparingly) with three (3). Ross leads the team in “scoring” with TDs scored rushing (8), receiving (3), via a housed punt, and three (3) two-point conversions.
Ross is averaging over 100-yards a night and looks very likely to eclipse the one-thousand yard rushing plateau by the end of the regular season. What will he do in the playoffs? Won’t that be fun to discover together?
