2025 RB/LB has proven himself on the diamond and gridiron
Chase Flaherty is a 5’10,” 185-pound running back/linebacker who has proven himself on the diamond as well as the gridiron. Flaherty had a tremendous game against Breathitt in the second round of the playoffs. Of course, no one should have been the least bit surprised. Flaherty has done it all year. Flaherty has played a huge role in the team’s compiling an 11-1 record and a home date with Martin County (9-3) for the Regional Championship in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.

Mingua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Chase Flaherty ’25 RB/LB from Beechwood High in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
Fort Mitchell, KY: Chase Flaherty is a bit undersized everywhere but where it counts; performance! Flaherty is a senior RB/LB who is 5’10,” and who weighs 185-pounds.
Here is the rub…he’s also a baseball star in addition to his football playing exploits. Matter of fact, we hear he clips off 60s in 6.99-seconds and has an infield velocity of 86-miles per hour.
What does that all mean? You may have to ask a baseball person. We cover football around here. Still, it sounded impressive to us.
There is a conversion formula which can take a 60-yard time in baseball and tell you what the prospect’s likely 40-time figures to be. We have worked that formula and believe Flaherty runs the 40 in 4.66-seconds (or there about). For a running back playing at the 2A level that is plenty fast.
Flaherty had quite the night in the second round against Breathitt. Flaherty carried the ball 16-times for 134-yards with five (5) rushing TDs. Flaherty caught three (3) balls for 97-yards and scored a receiving TD. Flaherty scored 36 of the team’s 56-points. Flaherty had quite a night.
On the year, Flaherty has gained 1,193-yards and scored 21-TDs. Flaherty has caught 4-TDs receiving. Flaherty has a hand full of tackles with an INT on defense.
The most important statistic is his team’s being is 11-1. The Tigers, from Beechwood and 17-times a Kentucky football champion, has a home date with Martin County (9-3) for the regional championship in Fort Mitchell upcoming this weekend.
What will be the likely result of that game? We’re glad you asked.
We have run the numbers and believe it likely Beechwood advances to the semi-state next weekend. According to our algorithm, we believe Beechwood has a 98% chance of sending Martin County back to Inez, Kentucky to ready for basketball.
KPGFootball prediction: Beechwood 48, Martin County 14
