Do you feel lucky punk? Do you? Those famous words were uttered by “Dirty Harry” Callahan, played by actor Clint Eastwood. Callahan was a police detective made famous in a series of movies in the 70’s and 80’s. Baron Wells’ response to whether he feels lucky would have to be a resounding “Yes.” Read why in this article.
Looking for a punishing OG for a football team committed to running the football. We have one for you, and we believe him to be the best in his class at the guard position. Here’s 6-1, 270-pound Owen LeMaster from Paintsville, Kentucky. Enjoy the article. HB.
With apologies to DJ Khaled, it is Tyler Ezell who only wins (“All I do is win, win, win, no matter what…”). He has made a career of ruining the night of the opposing team and arresting victory from the clutches of defeat. He did it to Madisonville North-Hopkins this past Friday night. Can he do it to Hopkinsville this Thursday? If I were Hopkinsville, I wouldn’t want the ball in this kid’s hands with the game in question late. Enjoy the article.

This week’s Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Jackson Maples from White House Heritage High School. Maples is a RB/MLB who is a two-way guy producing equally well on both sides of the football for his team. His play regularly exceeds any and all reasonable expectations, week after week. Enjoy this look at a guy who flies under the radar but is getting the job done regardless. Join us again next week as we look to recognize another of Robertson County’s worthy players.
Everybody in Kentucky is talking about Boyle County’s Reed Lanter or Beau Allen from Lexington Catholic and those guys are fantastic. However, don’t forget about a guy who QB rating is probably the very best in the commonwealth and who has his team in the mix, week after week, for so long as he has been under its center. Drew Hartz is an exceptional performer and one for whom a feature is WAY OVERDUE. Enjoy the article.
Reece Jesse is killing it out there for the Tigers as they head into their 5th game. This game is against the cross-town rivals, Christian County, who is winless on the year. If the Colonels can’t solve the Jesse-riddle regarding how to keep him from beating them, they will leave Friday night remaining “winless.” You can throw the records out the window when these two play. KPGFootball will have someone in Hopkinsville watching the game for us. Matter of fact, old Coach Lyon may just take this game in personally. Enjoy the article.
We have had some basketball players come over to the gridiron and demonstrate the skills which made them elite on the hardwood make them equally elite on the turf. One of those guys is Warren Central’s Dre Boyd. However, Jabari Kyle is having a “Boyd-ish” football season himself, just at a different position. Coach French has the Yellow-Jackets at 3-1 on the young season and back in discussion for post-season potential. Enjoy the story.
Talking to a friend of mine and KPGFootball contributor/scout and he was telling me about the Franklin County-Anderson County game. Franklin County won 53-13 and, yeah, the Flyers are loaded but he was also telling me he has coached teams against Franklin County’s splendid Class of 2021 WR prospect Fred Farrier. He told me the kid has been separating and snaring aerials practically without drops since he was a 3rd grader. Thought it would make a fine feature article.
