Here is the actual poll which we release free to everyone.

KPGFootball’s Votes cast (after October 18th’s games) in the AP weekly top-10 HS polls…

October 19, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

We are proud to represent our subscribers and readers as enrolled media members with the Associated Press. Owing to that, we strive to lead the other media members by being among the first in the press corp to submit its ballot each and every week. This is not the official poll; however, this is who KPGFootball has voted this week. This is pay-walled as the only people entitled to criticize how we exercise this privilege are the consumers whose fees paid to us permit us to participate.

It is getting time to start thinking about All-State selections. When it comes to voting on the All-State team (AP), we nominate guys positionally for inclusion. What we mean by that is when the AP asks for five linemen we nominate a center, two guards, and two tackles. The way we treat it is who would we want if this mythical team were going to play a game against another team and we really, really wanted to win. When we are asked for 4 defensive linemen, for instance, we give two DEs and two interior guys for the mythical defensive line. We nominate two safeties and two corners for the back end, so on and so forth. Our criteria is a simple one, our first team player would have to be good enough to transfer anywhere in Kentucky and be first team wherever he landed at the position at which he is being nominated. With that as a working criteria, which isn’t going to change, we will feature, from now through the opening of the ballot, players we believe fit that bill. We will start with a DE from Anderson County for which there will be little to any debate.

We have taken to putting more of our articles behind the pay-wall for the benefit of our subscribers only. After all, the subscribers to the site and the advertisers are the only people to whom we answer in the end. Much of the information we relate is valuable to our subscribers and advertisers which is why they support us. It wouldn’t be right, and would deny them the benefit of their bargains, to just give it away to any and everyone. Sorry, it’s called capitalism. We have forecast the winners of 38 games which will be played October 18, 2019. Let’s see how we do. Enjoy the article but only if you are a member or advertiser. Otherwise, you can begin wondering what we said about your team’s chances.

The Flyers are Soaring, as is their junior QB, Nick Broyles

October 14, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

There are people out there who forecast football games in Kentucky ready to just hand Coach Chuck Smith’s Boyle County squad the Championship trophy for the Kentucky 4A classification right now. Since they are going to win it anyway, why delay the inevitable, some might say. There is a really good 4A team in Franklin County, Kentucky who mights say “wait jut a minute there.” That team has one of the best dual-threats at QB playing HS football today. Meet Nick Broyles.

This week’s Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Wyatt Pearson from East Robertson Middle School. Pearsons has just been selected the MCC, Small School Division’s Middle School Lineman of the Year. His play regularly exceeds any and all reasonable expectations, week after week. Enjoy this look at a middle school lineman winning hardware now and sure to star at the next level too. Join us again next week as we look to recognize another of Robertson County’s worthy players.

Knott County’s Blake Whitaker proving a reliable target down the field…

October 10, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

When writing features and covering Kentucky high school football, many publications exclusively cover players on the really good teams. Well, there are players on rosters for teams who struggle. The difference between the rosters of teams doing well versus those who aren’t is often the number of good players the roster contains. Blake Whitaker for Knott County Central is a very good football player. Enjoy this feature about a player who (without us) may get both overlooked and underexposed.

Here is how we see 10 Friday-night match-ups fleshing out on October 11, 2019. We haven’t quite figured where we will be Friday night, leaning toward taking in the Anderson County at Bourbon County game in Paris, Kentucky. Anyway, this level of sarcasm is protected content for subscribers only. Sorry. #UMustPayToHateUs!

Conner Knipp, Grant County HS, Class of 2022 is a Brave on the Warpath

October 7, 2019 Fletcher Long 1

We would like to introduce you to one of the very outstanding QBs in Kentucky’s Class of 2022. This is especially true where he is playing Kentucky 5A football and is only 14-years old. One could make a solid argument he should be playing MS football at 14 years of age. There are 14 and even 15 year olds playing MS football all over Kentucky. This kid is flat getting it done. Enjoy the article. Picture has been taken off his Hudl page.
