Ethan Cobb has proven himself an exceptional talent among ’28 IOLs across the commonwealth of Kentucky. One could even say Cobb has been keeping it very cool there in the Campbellsville, KY football scene. Cobb was a starter and every down kind of guy for the Cardinals in 2025 and sports a three-plate (315-lbs.) bench press and a 505-pound back squat. At 5’11,” 275-pounds, that makes him extremely hard to dig out of the A-Gap. Coach Harris has come along to take Scott Parkey’s place at the helm and his staff at Taylor County High will be mighty happy, going forward into the ’26 season, to have an offensive center like Cobb. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you in that regard at Big Ass Fans!

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Kelton Forrester is a kid with a ton athletic ability and potential who was put in tough spots particularly for a freshman on a championship caliber roster at the 3A level. He will be called going forward as many seniors have exhausted eligibility and are headed to play football on Saturdays. Forrester is a track & field prospect in the commonwealth among ’29s and is already enjoying success as a varsity performer. Forrester is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him. Enjoy the feature.

Back the old days, coaches generally (particularly in high school) would take the best athlete and make him the QB. After all, let your best athlete handled the ball most of the time, right? Coach McPeek is familiar. He’s been around a while. Last year, the year before hiring McPeek, Eminence High had Deegan Ortega at QB. While there he threw for three TDs, ran for five scores, was the second leading scorer and contributed some tackles along the way. What is in store for ’26? You may see Ortega at QB some more but we believe his next level home will be at WR or DB. He is 6’2,” 180, carries a 3.3-GPA, and is one of the best athletes on any field he enters. The Chargers are not too many years removed from winning a 6A title (2022) in football. Bullitt East didn’t contend in ’25 (7-5) but it isn’t like they were a bad ball club either. The Chargers beat Fern Creek (Lou.) and North Hardin (Elizabethtown) while dropping games to Boyle and Franklin Counties, Manual, Male, and St. Xavier (the last three among the toughest opponents the Derby City can muster in its 6A classification). The Chargers are going to need consistent and reliable QB play in 2026 and we believe we know where they might find that and more. Enjoy this feature.

There will be those who will tell you the newly consolidated “Tigers,” from Christian County High, will go as far next season as new players like the one we are today featuring can lead them. The newly consolidated school shouldn’t hurt for talent and the Tigers are amassing an array of coaching talent to “put the team through its paces” in its upcoming inaugural season. Regardless, young guns will be critical. Good thing there will be young men roaming the hallways who are also extremely talented. We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Kenyon Cunningham is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level and a tremendous prospect in more than just football (basketball). Cunningham came to the Murray High roster when his dad got the job and has become among the commonwealth’s most talented players. Cunningham has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Cunningham is only going to improve over his sophomore season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities. Cunningham is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.
