Storm Warning: Kaijain Hayes back for his sophomore season looking to fulfill his immense promise @CoachJRiley_, @hayes_kaijain, @_CoachManning, @SylasGunn, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

KJ Hayes came up from middle school with tremendous promise. We predicted he would start varsity as a freshman. We were right. Hayes was put into the starting lineup after the opener where he remained until being lost to injury the fifth game of the year. Hayes has rehabbed this injury, reports being back 100%, and is looking forward to getting back on the field and giving his all to the fans, his teammates, and brothers. We predict a break out year for Cajun Hayes in ’25 and believe as he goes, so goes the Storm to a large extent. Enjoy this feature about a kid who plays an important role on this team and a guy about whom you may have well forgotten.

Jacob Litteral from Raceland Worthington High School is quite literally our Mingua Beef Jerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @jlitt56, @racelandramsfb, @Bryson1Rowsey, @minguabeefjerky, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @Ott_Football

There are loads of exceptions offensive linemen in Kentucky who may not have the “frame” and measurements to get recruited to the SEC or some other NCAA Division I (Power 4) conference type program. This doesn’t mean football isn’t in the cards and it certainly doesn’t mean the young men so afflicted won’t have tremendous college football experiences. Jacob Litteral is quite literally a beast, a dog, and a future college football player. Heck, a very good Ohio Athletic Conference team, from Westerville, OH (Otterbein), is all over this guy and who could possibly blame them? I am hoping this article gets some commonwealth programs on this guy, as we would like to see him stay home. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor out there in Raceland, KY.

The Barber of Bowling Green! Is he headed for a ‘Mr. Football?’ @BarberTrevy, @PurplesFootball, @CoachSpader, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball

July 1, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Figaro, the Barber of Seville, sings in the song, “Largo al factotum” that he has a role as the tows “factotum;” meaning Figaro does everything and is constantly in demand. Kind of sounds like Trevy Barber, the Barber of Bowling Green Senior High doesn’t it? Barber has a tremendous junior year where he led Bowling Green to another 5A championship catching 79-balls, for 22-TDs, housing a kick, and playing some defense while leading the team in scoring 9.2-points per in its fifteen (15) games played. What’s there left to do? Well, we believe this guy is a solid choice and frontrunner for the coveted “Mr. Football” award upcoming. If you were to bet on him, right now, to win that award it would be a solid wager. Enjoy this feature.

Checking in with Bo Wolford from Belfry @wolford_bo, @BelfryFootball1, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @WYMT, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans

June 30, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

We have been covering Bo Wolford since he was in middle school. We have hailed him as among Kentucky’s best IOL prospects for that long. Belfry has the 6’3,” 305-pounder on the edge playing tackle. We aren’t sure he has the length to do that at the next level. Wolford’s “next level” appears to be somewhere in the NCAA’s Division I; from Ivy League, to mid-major, to (maybe) even Power Four. Regardless, there is the matter of a championship to win for Belfry High. Belfry has moved down to 2A and may not find the sledding much easier through the top of that classification which Belfry is poised to join. Enjoy this “Check-in” with one of our all-time, favorite offensive linemen.

Today, we look at a kid who is turning quite a few heads at the TE slot. Today we feature Madisonville North Hopkins’s Jayden Travis. Christian Shackelford from Lexington Christian Academy is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator or the Week @ChristianDShac1, @_Jakeryan63, @maja_brown19, @LCAEAGLESFB, @CoachDCharles, @Oakley_Watkins

Christian Shackelford is built exactly like the “big boys” want to see him. He’s 6’7,” 290-pounds and sports a 3.8-GPA. Shackelford got six (6) games of run over his sophomore season and that isn’t too bad considering LCA had the most senior laden group of trench men in the KHSAA a year ago at any level of competition. There will be plenty of competition to fill some of these holes in ’25 resulting from the Spring ’24 commencement ceremonies. Enjoy this look at a ’27 who seems destined to grow into one of his graduating class’s very best offensive linemen before it is said and done. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you out in that regard.

Slow Motion Replay: Vic Marsh from Blazer High was a Franklin fan it would seem @murrayhighFB, @MurrayTigers, @MurrayQBClub, @HopHighTigers, @HopkAthletics, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

Today we are going to learn a thing or two about history by learning about two important historical figures. One of them is Benjamin Franklin, known for his wisdom and wit and coming up with great quotations still used today. The other guy is Vic Marsh, who famously believed in preparation and was very probably a reader of Benjamin Franklin and a fan. Whether he was a fan of Franklin or not, we at KPGFootball were certainly fans of his. Enjoy this 72nd installment of our series, “Slow Motion Replay.”

Marcus Hamilton from Calloway County is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @Aspirationsgym, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @MarcusHam61, @CClakerfootball

June 25, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Marcus Hamilton is a young big who got some meaningful PT along the defensive front a year ago. Hamilton prefers defense, like every other young “Big” playing football in Kentucky. We have bad news for him, though. We expect colleges will look at him as an OT prospect over his playing defense at the next level. It will all come down to how well he runs, how explosive he can become, as to which side of the scrimmage line he ends up playing. For now, we expect he may get some two-way run this coming year. He certainly has been blessed with the God-given tools to help the Lakers considerably this coming season (2025). Enjoy this feature and don’t forget to pick up a few bags of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products. #SavorTheFlavor out there in Perry County, KY.

Slow Motion Replay: Well, that’s a Peach…Mark Peach proved his worth over his many years of service @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @LC_Patriots, @TravAtwell

June 23, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Mark Peach is a high school coach who has met with considerable success along his career path. We have Peach with around 166-wins against 97-losses. We have him winning his region four (4) times and appearing in the state championship game twice, once at Hancock County in 1A (1999) and a second time at Anderson County in 5A (2011). Peach’s teams enjoyed a pair of undefeated regular seasons over his tenure. In addition, Peach developed and promoted a player, in Travis Atwell, into the coveted “Mr. Football” award and an appearance in the 1A title game after turning in a 12-3 mark and losing to Beechwood for the title. Enjoy this feature about Mark Peach, a fine football coach.

Jaxon James ready to show everyone what he can do @JaxonJames27, @D_Marc11, @SrHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky

June 23, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Jesse James was sort of the Robin Hood of the American West. It was rumored James robbed the rich to give to the poor. I don’t know if that is what he either did or didn’t do. I can tell you he robbed plenty of trains and banks and that is where the money was in those days. Jaxon James is not an outlaw. He is a Red Devil from Owensboro’s Senior High School. James has been playing in the shadow of one of the KHSAA’s premier RBs, Evan Hampton, committed to play for the University of Louisville next season. What will James do this coming year, his senior season? We believe it may well surprise you. Enjoy this feature.
