Braxton O’Hara, Class of 2021, a dual threat guy causing headaches for defenses all over the Mountains

We love the Mountains at KPGFootball and we love going there. Mountain people are one of a kind.

For our money, and for what it is worth, our friend Brendon Miller, who generously allows us the use of his pictures (which are without peer in the sports photography industry) covers the area as well as it can be covered.

We have gotten to spend some time with Brendon Miller as we visited with him this weekend. He kept insisting we look into an athlete he claims to be the Mountain’s most dangerous, explosive, and productive dual-threat QB. We have reviewed some film on him, and done quite a bit of research, and we would suggest this Class of 2021 phenom may be Kentucky’s premier dual-threat QB in his graduating class.

O’Hara took over for another QB who began the year as Coach Moore’s first string signal caller and succumbed to injury. As a result, O’Hara’s body of work, in 2018, wasn’t but 9 games. However, in his nine games of action, O’Hara completed 60 of his 105 passing attempts for 1,078 yards passing with 13 passing TDs against only 3 interceptions. On the ground, Braxton rushed the football 166 times, gaining 955 yards while carrying the football across the goal line 15 times.

All told, that is 2,033 total yards and 28 TDs on which he was a significant contributor over 9 games. We don’t know about you, but we would be thrilled with 226 yards of total offense, running and passing, while contributing to slightly more than 3 TDs per game, either scoring himself or throwing to someone else, out of the QB position. Wouldn’t you?

Maybe the scariest thing about Braxton O’Hara is his best football is still ahead of him. That is a pretty frightening proposition considering the 6-3, 195 pound, rising junior, high school football prospect already has the prototype for both frame and athleticism for the QB position.

There is something we need to tell you readers, especially those of you who are avid Kentucky high school football fans. That something is a factoid about which Breathitt County fans are well aware and one you readers need to begin to recognize.

Breathitt County is back folks. The Bobcats are back in the 2A title hunt this coming season in a big, big way. Having athletes like Class of 2021’s Braxton O’Hara around to orchestrate Coach Moore’s offensive attack on Mike Holcomb Field is a big reason why the prospects for the season upcoming are so rosy.
