As such, we feel honor bound to represent you each week by voting in the AP HS Kentucky football poll. We were one of 17 media members who voted this week. Here is the “Official” Top 10 poll for each classification.
There are people out there who forecast football games in Kentucky ready to just hand Coach Chuck Smith’s Boyle County squad the Championship trophy for the Kentucky 4A classification right now. Since they are going to win it anyway, why delay the inevitable, some might say. There is a really good 4A team in Franklin County, Kentucky who mights say “wait jut a minute there.” That team has one of the best dual-threats at QB playing HS football today. Meet Nick Broyles.
Every weekend, we are notified by the Associated Press as to the results, from over the weekend, of the respective six classification’s top-10. In other words, who won and who lost among Kentucky’s highest rated football teams in each classification. As a service to our subscribers, we have begun publishing the information so as to pass it along to our subscribers. Here is how the top-10 fared on October 10th or 11th, over the previous weekend.

THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL POLL as it will be released to the public this coming Monday afternoon, if tradition holds. We pour over data and statistical information in order to arrive at each team’s poll position. Don’t get too upset with how we vote, it plays itself out on the field anyway. This feature is for the benefit of subscribers only. Membership has its privileges.
This week’s Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Wyatt Pearson from East Robertson Middle School. Pearsons has just been selected the MCC, Small School Division’s Middle School Lineman of the Year. His play regularly exceeds any and all reasonable expectations, week after week. Congratulations to Andrew Munster, Class of 2021 FB/LB, who plays football for McLean County High, for his revolutionary play on the football field. We could pick games every week without missing a single prediction if we wanted to do that. There are very good HS football teams in Kentucky and there are very bad ones too. Just to prove a point, we have outlined ten games we guarantee will be won convincingly by the team we have predicted. If we lose even one of these ten, check the temperature in Hell. Funny thing is, a few of these matchups are between teams with similar records. Well, not all 2-4 records are similarly constituted. Enjoy the article. HB.
When writing features and covering Kentucky high school football, many publications exclusively cover players on the really good teams. Well, there are players on rosters for teams who struggle. The difference between the rosters of teams doing well versus those who aren’t is often the number of good players the roster contains. Blake Whitaker for Knott County Central is a very good football player. Enjoy this feature about a player who (without us) may get both overlooked and underexposed.
Here is how we see 10 Friday-night match-ups fleshing out on October 11, 2019. We haven’t quite figured where we will be Friday night, leaning toward taking in the Anderson County at Bourbon County game in Paris, Kentucky.
