November 11, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

We have taken to putting more of our articles behind the pay-wall for the benefit of our subscribers only. After all, the subscribers to the site and the advertisers are the only people to whom we answer in the end. We forecasted the winners of every game to be played November 7th and 8th, 2019 and won just under 90% of the games we picked. Let’s see how we do this coming week, in Round 2. Enjoy the article but only if you are a member or advertiser. Otherwise, you can begin wondering what we said about your team’s chances.

November 7, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Remember when the Patriots of White House Heritage were the “laughing stock” of Region 5-4A? Well, those days appear long gone as the Patriots are in the playoffs for the first time since 2015 and traveling to Lexington, Tennessee for a first round game in which they have an excellent chance of advancing. Should they advance, they would get Springfield in the second round for a rematch of a game which Springfield won 42-41 earlier this season. QB Will Wilson has been a key cog to his team’s success. For this reason, we are making him the Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us again next week as we anoint another worry recipient. HB.

Gough to start against Henderson County

October 29, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Gough is used to doing things well before anyone thinks he can. He started at one of Kentucky’s premier high-school programs as a freshman, he set the school’s single-season tackle mark as a sophomore, he made the AP All-State Football First-Team as a sophomore. The list just never seems to end. When he broke his leg the projections were he would be through for the year. Well, in keeping with Gough tradition, he was cleared to return to action in game 9. This makes him available for the playoffs, rested and full speed. Owensboro, at 8-1, was winning even without its marquee superstar. Imagine what they will do in the playoff run with him. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?
