The turn around of the Patriots of White House Heritage High School has been amazing to watch. From 1-19 over the last two years to 7-3 this year, with a 3-2 mark in the always tough Region 5-4A together with a season-defining win over Montgomery Central, the transformation has really been something to see. Montgomery Central has been a team which has really been on a roll the last two seasons, making the Patriots ability to beat them something one couldn’t have possibly conceived just a year ago.

QBs get the lion’s share of criticism when their teams lose, it is only fitting we should tip our hat to a QB who has helped lead his team back to prominence from the abyss of irrelevance. This week’s Robertson County Player of the Week, Will Wilson, has had quite a year, especially hooking up with Trenton Tuttle, who scored three TDs himself against the Indians in the final regular season game.

Wilson’s Patriots will open against a 5-5 Lexington team, traveling to Lexington. Lexington hasn’t had the type of year one expects from Lexington. They were still able to beat Chester County, Jackson North Side, Jackson South Side, and Liberty to finish 4-1 in its region, thereby getting to host this first-round game.

This will be White House Heritage’s first playoff appearance since 2015. Lexington is a pretty regular participant in the TSSAA playoffs.

Should Wilson be able to lead the Patriots to victory in Round I, it would set up a second-round showdown with Springfield High School. On September 6, 2019, Springfield beat the Patriots 42-41. The rematch would promise a lot of the same drama and excitement.

Congratulations to QB, Will Wilson of White House Heritage High School, in White House, Tennessee, for being selected the Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us, next week, as we anoint a new recipient.
