Long, tall frame; big-bodied WR with enough length to mention twice; & loads of talent
The Hoptown Tigers are no more. A football tradition which had been competing in high school football in the commonwealth of Kentucky for over a century will be subsumed into the “new school” and compete as the Christian County Tigers next season. I am sure we will become accustomed to it, but it is sad. We will miss Hoptown and all the good things that brand engendered in our hearts over the years. Still, we have to tip our hats to the extraordinary performance of ’26 prospect Aiden Jesse in his last game for Hoptown. He certainly went out on a high note and rendered an all-state performance over this, his senior year!

The Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company, based in Cadiz, Kentucky, was founded August 7, 1970. The bank obtained trust powers in 1978.

It is a locally owned, independent bank which has expanded, through the years, to locations in Hopkinsville and Murray in addition to Cadiz. The Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company has focused on community finance and dealing face-to-face with both families and small-business owners while fulfilling customer needs and the dreams of area families and businesses regardless of size or construct.
We, like our area schools, strive for high performance and finding ways to prosper in an ever-changing economic environment. The Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company remains committed to superior performance goals coupled with an exceptional quality of customer service.
A local, young, high school athlete who also renders superior performance while achieving exceptional quality is Hopkinsville High’s, Aiden Jesse, ’26 WR/DB. Jesse is this week’s Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company Superior Performance, Exceptional Quality Player of the Week.

Friday Night Fletch
Hopkinsville, KY: We told you something last week worth reiterating. There are players who are college prospects and there are players who are “Friday-Nighters.” Then, there are players who are both.
Aiden Jesse has had an incredible senior season. Matter of fact, whether or not it should be recognized as an “All-State” caliber season isn’t even a close call.
All-Staters make teams better for their having played. Jesse certainly did that over the course of this, his (and the program’s) final season.
Jesse went off against the Spartans of South Warren in a losing effort (51-23). Against the undefeated, 6A power, Jesse registered seven (7) receptions for 185-yards and three (3) TDs. Jesse scored 18 of the team’s 23-points, while still registering a pair of tackles and making his considerable contributions to the team’s return units for three (3) phase utility. You don’t see too many players contribute in three phases while playing 6A football on playoff teams who win seven (7) or more games.
For the year, Jesse caught 39-passes for 853-yards and 11-TDs. Jesse scored 72-points.
On defense, Jesse registered only nine (9)-tackles but that is a bit deceiving. Jesse also registered three (3) INTs and a pick six. Jesse used his incredible length to finish among the leaders in PBUs.
Against South Warren, Jesse caught seven passes for 185-yards and three TDs to finish with 18 of the team’s 23-points…

There are a few “other numbers” which recommend his services to college football programs. Jesse is 6’3,” 180-pounds with long arms and legs, big hands, and a 3.5 GPA (Big Brain).
Basketball season is upon us. Jesse is among the better inside scoring threats and rebounders in the area and promises to make a considerable contribution to the Tigers’s basketball fortunes this final campaign.
This season was the program’s “Swan Song.” The team finished 7-5 and were as good as any team in the first district as Hopkinsville, McCracken, and Henderson took turns beating the other. Among the three, Henderson County is still alive, making a trip to Bowling Green to play the same South Warren team which just eliminated the Tigers.
Will the Colonels, from Henderson, Kentucky, fair better than district rival Hopkinsville? They sure hope so but only time will tell for sure.
However, if the Colonels can find some lengthy 6’3,” wide receiver, returners, and defensive third level ballhawks lying around, it just might help. We know of one who just became available…
We can’t make it any simpler than that. We’ll see you at the game!
