Keshaun Tipton looks to take the next step in his high school progression for his program @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @FC_FALCONS_FB

Lasaters...time to wake up and smell the coffee!

Tipton was the pride of the freshman class, in ’25, for the Falcons!

Looking over the ’25 statistics, and the roster, something just kind of gets noticed. Keshaun Tipton got more playing time (PT) than anyone else in his graduating class (’29). Six games of varsity burn is nothing at which to sneeze, especially playing for a 2A team with six (6) state title banners hanging from its stadium walls. Tipton did a ton with the time he was granted, registering 14-tackles. They will need more of that with the losses the program is set to experience during the Spring’s graduation ceremonies.

Oak Grove, KY: Graduation is the “thing” lots of fans choose to ignore. The fact is it happens. It impacts your talent and your chances for success.

There was a 2A team which had gone 15-0 quite a time ago and graduated six (6) seniors off its title team. The very next year I picked them to win four (4) games, preseason. This made the fans of that particular program very upset.

I fielded an obnoxious amount of phone calls. Each caller seemed more upset than the last.

How can you pick our team (which had just won the 2A title) to only win four (4) games(?), I was asked. We have all but six (6) players returning.

My answer to the irate caller was the following, I suppose it matters who those six players are.

You see, one of the six players not returning had won Mr. Football the previous season and had accounted for 60% of his team’s offensive production all by himself. You lose 60% of your offensive production, whether six (6) players or 60 (sixty), and you won’t be as good the following season.

Game or season handicappers, good rule of thumb here. If you’re searching for one.

Incidentally, not to be that guy; but the team in question won four games the following year, exactly as I had predicted. Unfortunately for the fans of that program, I am that guy.

Fort Campbell losses JaCaryous Perryman and Keshawn Dixon from off the ’25 roster as soon as the baccalaureate practices commence. Both of those guys made our Big Ass Fans, Small School, All-State Football Team this past season.

Replacing them, and the multiphase production they contributed to the team’s bottom line, won’t be easy. If you don’t believe us, ask HFC Henry Mitchell.

One young guy who showed flashes of what he can contribute this past season was Keshaun Tipton. Tipton played in six (6) varsity games and contributed 14-tackles. That is promising for a young man who may be a first-string, second level defensive guy in ’26 and should see some time on offense and special teams too.

Tipton is a guy who should continue to improve as he develops and his frame matures. What Tipston needs most pressingly is opportunity. We hear he can handle the rest.

Tipton made 14-tackles in six (6) games worth of ‘varsity burn’ in ’25 as a freshman

Fort Campbell has a challenge lying ahead. Like we said, the Falcons are losing two all-timers and have to take up that slack somewhere.

Coach Mitchell will be busy, this offseason, developing talent to replace that which will traipse across the graduation stage in just a few short months. Among the search for playmakers, and other special talents the Falcons will be losing, at least there are some pieces returning.

Keshaun Tipton, a player with multi-phase skills, was only a freshman last year. By season’s end, Tipton was showing an ability to count among the more lethal threats the roster contained. Tipton’s return is cause for optimism; but, he is not alone.

I hear the Falcons have some freshman talent coming along nicely. The sophomore season would be a good time for that talent to assert itself.

Identifying potential talent is tantamount to getting the Fort Campbell football team prepared for the challenges ahead. That is why this particular Falcon is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week.
